Milani Fashion Nail Trend Manis

Good morning, readers! I have some fun manicures to share with you today! I've paired up with Milani for a Fashion Nail Trend Project and had to create 4 manis inspired by these trends! Milani made pinterest boards for each trend so go check them out and see what the other bloggers came up with that participated as well!

The trends are Color Block, Haute Rod, Glamazon, and Gilded Rebel. You can see the 4 with Milani's instructions on their website here: http://www.milanicosmetics.com/t-nail-art-gallery.aspx

First up is my favorite of the 4 looks I recreated, Gilded Rebel:

I loved these nails SO MUCH, I wore it as a full mani for as many days as I could before it was all chipped. I have a feeling I'll do them again as well. I've never had a glitter gradient from the cuticle down to the tip and love it so much more than I expected!
I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
2 coats of Milani Fresh Teal NEON
Dabbed Milani Silver Dazzle One Coat Glitter at the cuticles with a torn makeup sponge
Dabbed Milani Teal Jewel FX Glitter in the middle gradiented toward the tips with a torn sponge
1 coat of NYC Grand Central Station

Next, I'll show you my version of Color Block:

I wanted to be different and do triangle blocks instead of squares. I really liked this one as well!

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
Base colors of Milani Jiffy Orange and Milani Fresh Teal NEON(2 coats of each)
Milani White On The Spot and a striping brush for the first "blocks"
Milani Jiffy Orange and Fresh Teal Neon with the striping brush to fill in the 2nd "blocks"
Top coat of NYC Grand Central Station

Up next is Haute Rod:
I wasn't exactly sure if the dripping tips or the red flames were the main point of Haute Rod in the Milani Art Gallery so I just tried it with a different base color. The drips were a bit difficult to achieve but it is a neat look! And This One Coat Glitter is amazing! I did two coats to fill in some spots but it is definitely packed!

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
2 coats of Milani Silver Dazzle One Coat Glitter
Milani Black Swift drip tips
NYC Grand Central Station top coat

Lastly, here is my Glamazon look:
I basically took is as glitter gradient tips so that's what I did. Very Christmasy look to me.

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
1 coat of Milani Rapid Cherry
1 coat of Milani Red Sparkle
Dabbed on Milani Gold Jewel FX on the tips
NYC Grand Central Station top coat

What do you think of my looks? Do you have a favorite? I really enjoyed making these because I had to try new nail art ideas and I think i'll be doing a few of them again as well! Thanks for reading!

*These polishes were sent to me from PR to use in my manicures.

Friday Shimmer Polish Spam!

Good morning, readers! I hope you are ready for a really long, picture packed post to get you ready for the weekend!! If you've been a follower for a while, you may remember my previous Shimmer-thon a few months ago! Well, this time, I'm going to throw these 11 other Shimmers into ONE post. Get your wishlists ready because I bet you will be adding some of these to them!

Shimmer polishes are super packed and full of glitter! Some only needed 2 coats and some needed 3, none shown below with top coat. All shown without base colors.

Let's begin!

This is Alice! She's silver, holographic, and packed with shimmer in the base. This is only 2 coats and is one of my favorites of the ones I'm showing today! It's much more holographic than my light box photos show, super gorgeous!

So many different sized silver glitters packed into this polish!

Next, we have my favorite of this group, Carmen! I was totally shocked at my love for Carmen once it was on my nails. I'm usually drawn to teals, blues, and purples. Carmen is a holographic copper glitter bomb! It's very close to Alice, but in copper instead of silver. SO IN LOVE. Shown below with only 2 coats. Definitely more holographic than these pictures show.

Now for Caroline. Tons of color glitters, purples being the main focus. Shown below as three coats.

Next we have Jasmine. Definitely makes me think of Disney's Jasmine princess! This is only 2 coats below.

Onward we go! Now for Gerry! A navy blue with purple glitter, as well as some other added in. This took 3 coats. I really like this one!

Next, we have Jenny! Another favorite of mine, it reminds me of the ocean. I used 3 coats below.

Next we have Tammy. This is the only one I've tried with bar glitters. A very interesting color combination as well. Gold, silver, purple, black, as well as some others not as prominent. This is 2 coats below!

Onto the darker color of the bunch, Liana. Greys, blacks, and blues are the main focus of this one. Shown below with 3 coats.

Another surprise love for me of this bunch was Karina! Kind of vampy and holographic at the same time. It had the most pigmented base out of this set and only needed 2 coats. Perfect for fall and winter!

Next we have Karen! Lavender tint with lots of other colors! Shown below with 3 coats.

Lastly, we have Sophie! She reminds me of a pink/red version of Karen. Also needing 3 coats as shown below.

Phew, you made it! What do you think of these 11 new Shimmer polishes? Which are your favorites?! Each bottle retails for $12 and you can even order a custom polish for $15! You can find that listing HERE in Cindy's Etsy Shop.

Pretty & Polished Bridal Polishes!

Hello readers! I have more awesome polishes from Pretty & Polished to share with you today! These three are from the Bridal collection and I love them all! Too bad I wasn't into nail polish back when I got married 7 years ago, how fun!

They are: "Never a Bride, Always a Mermaid," "I Do!" and "Save The Date."

First up is Never a Bride, Always a Mermaid. It's a gorgeous full coverage glitter polish that really does remind me of mermaid tails! There are tiny glitters in both green and aqua as well as aqua hexes that seem to change color a bit at different angles. It was nearly opaque in 2 coats, but I did a third. Very easy to apply. Shown below with top coat.

I didn't want to take this beauty off!

Next up we have I Do! I'm not usually a big fan of white based polishes, or ones with hearts for that matter, but I was surprised at how much I liked this when it was on! It definitely needed 3 coats and because I have a mini bottle and brush, I had to work a bit to get some hearts out. There are different sized pink hexes in the white base as well as the pink hearts. The hearts are on the thicker side of shaped glitter, but one thick coat of top coat and there was no trouble with them sticking up. Trust me, the hearts were worth it to tip the bottle upside down before I applied. Shown below with 3 coats and top coat. Also easy to apply.

You can see that the heart is textured.

Lastly, we have a glitter topper called Save The Date. It has a few different sizes of white hex glitter as well as some pretty iridescent ones in a clear base. This is two coats over a light blue base color (going for the "something blue" look) . Definitely very "bridal" or snowy looking to me. It was very easy to apply without fussing with the glitters. The large hexes were easier to get on the brush than the previous heavier hearts. Shown with top coat.

Look at the pretty iridescent glitters showing their colors!

Well there you have the first three bridal polishes from Pretty & Polished! Chelsea told me she has some others in the works so look around for those in the future.

These are only available by custom order right now for $9 a full sized bottle. Please email Chelsea if you are interested in any at prettyandpolishedllc@gmail.com

She is also offering custom wedding polishes in your wedding colors for $10 each. You can contact Chelsea at the same email above if you'd like to have that done as well!

Mommy's NOTD: Illamasqua Poke!

Good morning, readers! I have a quick Nails Of The Day(NOTD) post today. This past weekend we went on a trip to visit family back home and their JCPenny just got Sephora so I had to go check it out! To my surprise, they had just gotten in the nail bar and I had a lot of polish to choose from! I'd never been to Sephora and was so excited!

I decided to treat myself to an Illamasqua polish and Poke is the one I picked. It's a super pretty purple packed with shimmer. I had a swatching fest yesterday and now am wearing this as a full mani and I LOVE IT. I'm not even going to put nail art over it.

Two easy coats of gorgeousness.

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
2 coats of Illamasqua Poke
1 coat of NYC Grand Central Station top coat

What do you think? Thanks for reading!
