Mommy's NOTD: Elevation Polish Uluru, Cirque Colors Au, and Zoya Solange!

Hello, readers! I wanted to show you what I have on my nails right now and plan to wear this weekend while we meet some friends out of town at the Jacksonville Zoo! (I know, I should have done some animal print lol).

I've had Elevation Polish Uluru on my toes for a couple of weeks and I just love it! I picked up Cirque Colors Au 23K gold leaf top coat in the recent 40% off sale and I thought it would look great over Uluru. Because I just can't leave well enough alone, I decided to do some accent nails with stripes of Zoya Solange pixie dust for some added design. Solange and Au gave some great dimension and texture to the already gorgeous Uluru!

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
2 coats of Elevation Polish Uluru
1-2 coats of Cirque Colors Au
striping tape and one thick layer of Zoya Solange
Cult Nails Wicked Fast (not on the accent nails!)

What do you think of this fun look? I never really understood the gold leaf top coat trend until I got my Cirque Colors Au in the mail. I absolutely LOVE it! It applied so easily and I didn't have to fish for any of the gold pieces. I did go back for a second coat on a few nails if I wanted more but one could have been plenty!

Don't forget to take the striping tape off carefully right after you paint your top color--while it is still wet! If you wait until it is dried, you may peel off part of the design you want to stay on the nail!

Thanks for reading! Hope you all have a fun weekend!

Naild'it PURP... Excuse Me!! Swatches and Review!

Good morning, readers! I have another glitter from Naild'it Unique Polish today to show you! If you haven't been following this week, here are the links to the other newer Naild'it polishes I've been showing:

Salmon Run
Butterflies in Rainbow Skies

PURP... Excuse Me!! is such a funny name for a polish! It is a black jelly polish filled with tons of different colored and shaped glitters, a lot that are holographic. I chose to wear it on it's own to show how it can build up at 3 coats. There were so many glitters at three coats that I think I prefer the way Michelle from Things I Love At The Moment layered one coat over a black base. The glitters pop more with the darker base. But here are my photos with three coats and one coat of top coat.

This was taken under the lamp directly to show off the holo glitter.

This is from inside the light box.

What do you think of this new Naild'it Unique Polish? Thanks for reading!

Naild'it Unique Nail Polish is available at the links below. This color is being sold through Llarowe.

Naild'it Butterflies in Rainbow Skies Swatches and Review!

Good morning, readers! I have another of the new Naild'it polishes to show you today. This is one of the glitter polishes I received and the color combo is super fun for summer!

Butterflies in Rainbow Skies is a purple crelly with a splatter of neon pop, including neon hot pink butterfly glitters. I love the color combo here of the pretty purple base and the neon glitters! The butterflies are pretty and I didn't have to dig for them in the bottle at all! I'm showing three coats with one coat of top coat below. The base is a little thinner than a normal jelly base for glitter so you can see the texture in my photos from the glitter. I will use a thicker top coat or a second layer of top coat next time to give it a smoother look, but wanted you to see how it dried.

What do you think of this new Naild'it color? Thanks for reading!

Naild'it Unique Nail Polish is available at the links below. This color is being sold through the Naild'it Etsy shop and Meimei's Signatures will have it as well.

Naild'it Salmon Run Swatches and Review!

Good morning, readers! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We had some fun family time and the hubby took me out on a movie date to see the new Star Trek in IMAX 3D! It was so awesome! This was the first time we saw a 3D movie and it is such a cool experience! We are syfy geeks so this movie was right up our alley!

I have some new colors from Naild'it Unique Nail Polish to show you this week! Today, I am showing my favorite of the ones I was sent. And guess what? It's not even a glitter polish!! I may be starting to calm down from my glitter phase and can definitely love different polishes lately.

Salmon Run is a red leaning coral holographic polish. It has a scattered holo effect and the color is gorgeous! The application was flawless and only needed 2 coats with top coat for the photos below. I did my swatches at night when the kids were sleeping but I did stick a light in my lightbox to try and show off the holo! If you look closely, you can see the different colors in the holo shimmer.

In the lightbox, the holo shimmer just looks silver in the bottle.

This is gorgeous! I was really impressed with the formula of Salmon Run and I love the color as well so I know I'll wear this over and over again! Thanks for reading!

Naild'it Unique Nail Polish is available at the links below. This color is exclusive to Llarowe right now.

Mommy's NOTD: Elevation Polish Ave Secretan and Lynnderella Her Name is Petal

Hello, readers! It's time for another Nails Of The Day post! I chose to layer two of my newer, untried indie polishes and I love them together! I've been wearing a lot of Elevation Polishes paired with Lynderellas lately. It may be because their bottles sit side by side in my "indie polish drawer" and the bottles are the same shape.

Elevation Polish Ave Secretan is "a beautiful punch pink/red crème with an incredibly high shine finish." It's almost a crelly with how it applied! I love this color so much that I almost didn't layer anything over it!

Lynnderella Her Name is Petal is "a multi-glitter with assorted neon, pastel satin and matte glitters in a multi-shimmer clear base." I love the shimmer as well as the different shaped glitters!

This is two coats of Elevation Polish Ave Secretan and one coat of Lynnderella Her Name is Petal, topped with one coat of thicker top coat to seal in the bigger glitters:

Look at that gorgeous shimmer!

Even the bottles look great together!

What do you think of this easy look? Thanks for reading!

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 4: Popping Parrotfish!

Hello, readers! I have the fourth polish in the new Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection to show you today! If you missed my 3 previous posts on the other Spring Seas Collection polishes, you can find them below:

Leaping Lyretail
Jumping Jellyfish

Popping Parrotfish is a light mint creme with a sparkling green base and a glitter rainbow! The base has a beautiful shimmer and the colors of glitters compliment it nicely. I'm showing two coats below with two coats of top coat. Make sure you let the first coat dry before adding the second to prevent any glitter dragging off the first coat. I love how the base is a creme and yet you can still easily see the different glitters floating in it!

If you are unfamiliar with Parrotfish, here is a photo I used from google image search to inspire my nail art:

Here is my swatch with my attempt at a parrotfish:

Look at that shimmer! That may be my favorite part of Sea Lore polishes!

My Parrotfish really looks like a cross between a parrot bird and a fish LOL!

Tell me your thoughts on the fourth polish in the new Spring Seas Collection! Stay tuned for the last polish in the Spring Seas Collection!

In case you missed it, here is a picture of the whole collection:

Leaping Lyretail, Dancing Discus, Popping Parrotfish, Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse.

My Mani For Celiac Awareness!

Good morning, readers! I'm showing you what I'm currently wearing on my nails (which, believe it or not, doesn't happen often over here at Adventures In Acetone. A lot of the time I am showing older looks or swatches so my nails hardly match the post when I am writing it up) in support of Celiac Awareness. A friend of mine asked if I would take part in posting this week and here is a little information on the disease if you are unfamiliar:

"May is Celiac Awareness month and its colors are yellow and green. Celiac Disease is more than an allergy to gluten. Gluten is an ingredient found in bread, pasta, anything wheat-based, and even items such as soy sauce. Basically gluten is in much of our daily food. From the National Foundation from Celiac Awareness, “Celiac disease is an autoimmune digestive disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. What does this mean? Essentially the body is attacking itself every time a person with celiac consumes gluten.” When someone with Celiac eats gluten, it can take the intestine up to a year to heal from the gluten attack. You can find more info at http://www.celiaccentral.org/"

As you've seen before on my blog, I am always up for raising awareness! I chose to do a simple polka dot mani with two of my new textured polishes: Zoya Solange and Kiko 643 Sugar Mat. I am wearing this as a full mani and love how the dots add even more dimension and texture to the mani.

I wore 2 coats of each Kiko 643 and Zoya Solange and then added the dots with my dotting tool. No top coat, of course!

What do you think of this look? Are you familiar with Celiac Disease or know anyone with it? Let's raise awareness! Thanks for reading!

Lancôme Simply Aqua Swatch and Review!

Hello, readers! I have a polish to share with you today from the new Lancôme Aquatic Summer Collection! It is called Simply Aqua and is my first Lancôme polish. You may remember my Press Release from this Aquatic Summer Collection, but if you don't, you can click my link below to see the other 3 colors.

http://www.adventuresinacetone.com/2013/05/new-lancome-aquatic-summer-collection.html

Simply Aqua is a pale blue that almost leans periwinkle on my skin tone. It applied beautifully and the beveled brush made it really easy. The color was sheer, however, and required 4 coats for complete coverage. It is very shiny on it's own and I am showing it without top coat so you can see.

So shiny without top coat!

The beveled brush edge for easy application.

I love the pretty box it comes in! As you can see, these bottles are smaller than average, only 6 ml.

What do you think of Simply Aqua from Lancôme's Aquatic Summer Collection? This collection is only out for a limited time to get yours while you can!

You can buy this, as well as the 3 other Aquatic Summer polishes(shown below) for $15 each at Lancome.com and at all Lancôme Counters.

Thank you for reading!

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 3: Springing Seahorse!

Hello, readers! I have the third polish in the Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection for you today! I think it is another favorite for me and I did a fun layering combination with it. If you missed my 2 previous posts on the other Spring Seas Collection polishes, you can find them below:

Leaping Lyretail
Jumping Jellyfish

Springing Seahorse is a sparkling purple iridescent base with various shades of purple glitters. It is a beautiful glitter topper and I chose to layer ONE coat over Dior St. Tropez. I love the contrast- the gorgeous shimmer really shows it's colors against this base. (The combo reminds me of RBL Aqua Lily, which I LOVE!) It applied easily without having to manipulate the glitter and was smooth to the touch after one coat of top coat.

I did a cute little seahorse on my accent nail as well!

Will you LOOK at that shimmer? Gorgeous.

Tell me your thoughts on the third polish in the new Spring Seas Collection! Stay tuned for the other 2 polishes in the Spring Seas Collection!

In case you missed it, here is a picture of the whole collection:

Leaping Lyretail, Dancing Discus, Popping Parrotfish, Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse.

Incoco Real Nail Polish Appliqué Review!

Good morning, readers! What do you think of the new look on the blog? It's much cleaner and I just love the header that my wonderful hubby made for me!

Today's post is of a look I created using 2 different sets of Incoco nail polish appliqués! I was sent three different sets so you will see the third set in a different post in the future. These are the three different colors I received:

Puddle Jumping, Pink Lemonade, and Very Rosy.

These were very easy to apply (if you've used the Sally Hansen ones before, they are the same idea and steps) and I loved how they looked on!

Here are step by step instructions, and even a video, on the Incoco website for you if you want to see how to do it: http://www.incoco.com/LearnHowto.aspx

I've paired Very Rosy with Pink Lemonade accent nails:

In the macro, you can see the "printing lines" but from arms length they weren't noticeable!

Look at this gorgeous shimmer!

I wore these for about 6 days! I had a very busy week so it worked out really well and I was able to get a wear-time photo for you after 5 full days. 9 of my nails just had tip wear and one had a chip. WAY better wear time than polish on my nails!

You can see a crack on the pinky nail. I'm sure it would have chipped off soon after. My nails bend a lot so I think that's where the cracks and chips came from.

So all in all, the wear time was great and they looked awesome! I love the ease of applying nail strips instead of being the one to make the design by hand!

They came off with nail polish remover but it was a bit more difficult than regular polish. There was a sticky clear "base coat" layer that needed some extra removal time but nothing like glitter polish.

I am definitely impressed with these and can't wait to try out the third set for you!

There are tons of different designs to choose from! You can buy them online at the link below for $7.99 a set. There are 2 sheets of 8 double ended strips in each pack.

Shipping is free on orders of $50 or more! They are currently only available to USA and Canadian addresses but are working on adding international shipping a possibility.

Tell me your thoughts on these! Have you tried Incoco strips before? Thanks so much for reading!
