Digit-al Dozen DOES Bling Day 5: Aqua Lily with Studs!

Hello, readers! I'm sad to say that today is the final day of Bling Week with the Digit-al Dozen. This week was more fun than I initially expected and it was nice to think outside of my nail art box for this one.

Today's post is really exciting for me. I've wanted the discontinued Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily for a while now and was having a hard time finding someone selling it besides on ebay for mega inflated pricing.  I finally took the plunge and bought a fellow polish-lover's bottle and it arrived this week. I couldn't wait to put it on and knew I'd have to figure out a way to fit it into Bling Week so I wouldn't have to wait to wear it.

I played off of the pink shimmer in Aqua Lily by covering my accent nail in pink and purple studs. These came from the stud set I recently reviewed from Born Pretty Store. (I accidentally forgot I had this wheel of them when I did that post so I'm glad I am getting to use them now). I did a thick coat of slow drying gel-like top coat and used a orange stick to place each stud. (An easy way that I do this is: lick the tip of the orange stick and then touch the stick to the top of the stud you want. It will stick to the stud and once you place it on the nail, it comes off easily!). I used clippers to cut some studs in half to fit better on the nail and went back in with nail glue and covered the seams between the studs for longer wear time. I've had this mani on for over 24 hours and every stud is still there through a shower and getting kids ready, washing dishes, etc.

I went outside to get some good shots of the gorgeous shimmer:

This is what it looked like from my light box. The shimmer wasn't as noticeable with the diffused light:

Look at the shimmer and base color combo! I think its a favorite polish of all time!

What do you think of this look? Besides the fact that the studs make my nail wider, I am really liking it and plan to wear it all weekend if it lasts! Thanks for reading!

Digit-al Dozen DOES Bling Day 4: Neon Hawaiian Flower Mani!

Hello, readers! It's day 4 of Bling Week with the Digit-al Dozen! Are you enjoying this week? It's less freehand nail art for me and more nail art accessories so it's a nice change!

Today's post is bright and fun and reminds me of Hawaiian shirts! I really wanted to try out the neon yellow glitter topper, Elevation Polish Huangshan, over a neon base and chose to go with a new Hit The Beach DARE Colors polish: Bikini Tiny! (Don't forget to enter my giveaway to win both sets of DARE Colors polishes, it ends tomorrow night!!). I added some fun rhinestone flowers in this pretty aqua blue and I love how all of the colors go together!

The base color is much more fuchsia and not as orange-leaning as my photos show. I guess my camera isn't very good with neons.

Digit-al Dozen DOES Bling Day 3: OPI Minnie Mouse Nails!

Good evening, readers! Today is day 3 of Bling Week with the Digit-al Dozen! I recently bought 3 of the new OPI Couture De Minnie Collection polishes so I've used all of them for this mani. I love the polishes!

Index: 2 coats of OPI A Definite Moust-Have with silver bouillon beads in the shape of a Minnie head stuck to the top coat while it was still wet.

Middle: 2 coats of OPI Magazine Cover Mouse

Ring and Pinky: 2 coats of OPI A Definite Moust-Have with 1 coat of OPI Minnie Style 

Love the shimmer in A Definite Moust-Have!

This Liquid Sand shade is gorgeous!

The bubbles are most likely from my thick layer of top coat.

Digit-al Dozen DOES Bling Day 2: Pink Zebra Mishmash!

Hello, readers! It's day 2 of Bling Week with the Digit-al Dozen! Tonight's mani started with a Kiss nail art sticker that my friend Casandra had sent Hailey to play with. It is a pink zebra with rhinestones full nail sticker and I thought it would fit in great with this week's theme! I just chose some other colors and techniques for other blingy looks on the rest of my nails.
