Swatch Saturday: Elevation Polish Tools of the Trade Collection!

Press Sample

Hello, readers! I was sent the entire new Elevation Polish Tools of the Trade Collection to swatch and review for you. The collection will be in tomorrow's restock at 9PM (CST) so read on to see more about these new polishes!

The Tools of the Trade Collection was inspired by Lulu's favorite tools for enjoying the outdoors in the wintertime. Here are some fun descriptions from her blog:

Pata Puffer II: this is a re-imagining of a former Elevation Polish color. It's inspired by my favorite patagonia puffer jacket. The polish is a clear based glitter topper. It's a beautiful blend of fuchsia, pink, purple in various hexes, squares, matte, metallic, and some circle glitters in the mix.

Finding Nemo: No, not the lovable fish. Nemo as in the tent. There is nothing like finding and seeing that lovely bright green off in the distance reminding you that your temporary home isn't that far away. The polish is a clear based glitter topper. It is a soft blend of a variety of iridescent glitters and green matte glitters, including some sparse green matte circle glitters.

Prusik or Loop it: Prusik is a staple in my "bug out" bag. Nothing like a good squishy blue to brighten a day. This blue is very jelly, 3-4 coats for full coverage, and has blue micro shimmer and white medium sized flake shimmer.

I got the Axe: Ice axe that is. Based on my favorite pair of ice axes, the polish is sort of a mix between green melon and lime. It looks like a solid color indoors but brightens and twinkles outdoors. Direct sunlight lets the sparse holographic pigment and soft shimmer really shine.

These Boots Were... :Inspired by my boots, a pair of really great hiking boots can make or break a good trip. It's a red-ish purple with a slight shift of blue-ish with plenty of medium sized red, gold, pink flake shimmer.

Onto the swatches!

Pata Puffer II is a clear based glitter topper with fuchsia, pink, and purple in various shapes. I've paired it with Elevation Polish Jengish Chokusu to really show off the different colors. I'm showing one easy coat with top coat below. The glitters spread nicely and I didn't have to fish any out of the bottle.

Next up is Finding Nemo. Is is a clear based glitter topper with iridescent glitters and green matte glitters in different shapes and sizes. I've paired it with Elevation Polish Tavan Bogd for a nice contrast of colors. I'm showing one easy coat with top coat below. The glitters came out of the bottle easily on the brush and spread nicely with no issues.

Look at those gorgeous iridescent glitters!

Prusik or Loop it is such a pretty blue jelly! The shimmer and white flakes add a lot of depth and fun to this polish and I can't wait to do some jelly sandwiches with it! It took 3 regular coats for the opacity in these pictures because it is a jelly. Outdoors, I was still able to see some VNL (visible nail line) but not indoors. Shown below with top coat.

Look at that gorgeous bottle!

I got the Axe is such a super bright and fun color! Bordering the line of lime green and green melon with shimmer and subtle holographic pigment. The holo comes out to play with the shimmer when you go in the sun so I've included an outdoor picture below with my light box pictures. I am showing 3 coats below for full coverage with top coat. If you are more careful with application, two coats could be sufficient but I did need three for a few lighter patches.

 Outdoors in the direct sunlight:

Our final color is These boots were... the color is hard to describe but it is a red/purple with a blue shimmer shift and flakes that are red/gold/pink. I am showing 2-3 coats below with top coat. There were a few lighter patches at 2 coats on some nails so some needed three coats. It applied very easily.

Well there you have it! Which are your favorites? I love the glitters and I can't wait to use Prusik or Loop it in some jelly sandwiches with them!
