Tutorial Tuesday: Abstract Candy Corn Nail Art!

Good morning, readers! I have a really simple tutorial for today, it was part of my Nail Junkie Halloween post yesterday and I had a lot more feedback from it on Instagram than I thought I would so I'm going to show you how simple it is!

As I said in my post yesterday, this is inspired by the "earthquake design" I saw on Beauty Gnome HERE. I just made mine with colors to represent candy corn and it is so easy that anyone can do it!

Here is the simple step by step collage. You will find full sized pictures and step by step instructions further down in this post.

If you didn't see this full mani in yesterday's post, go check it out because there is a GIVEAWAY!

Onto the tutorial! Things needed:

Sinful Colors Snow me White, Milani Jiffy Orange, Milani Canary.

One medium detail brush.

Step 1) Paint 1-2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and let dry.

Step 2) Paint the bottom half of the nail with Milani Canary. You don't have to be perfect with the line, it will be covered by orange anyway! Let dry.

Step 3) Use your detail brush and Milani Jiffy Orange to paint a vertical line over the center of the nail, covering where the white and  yellow meet.

Step 4) Continue making random vertical lines with Jiffy Orange until the entire middle row on your nail is orange. You can vary the heights for more interest.

Don't forget to add a thick, quick drying top coat to protect and seal in your design! I prefer Seche Vite, H K Girl Top Coat, or Poshe.  Put a thick bead of top coat on the brush and gently spread it toward the tips and side, taking great care to not let the bristles touch the polish underneath. Thinner top coats can cause streaking or bleeding of the colors and the bristles drag lines through the design. YOU'RE DONE!

What do you think of this simple abstract candy corn tutorial design? Please share pics of your nails using my tutorials by tagging me on Instagram (@adventuresinacetone) or posting to my Facebook Page!

Thanks so much for reading!
