OPI Glitter Off Review: Test Two.

Press Release

About three weeks ago, I tried out OPI Glitter Off peel-able base coat for easy removal of glitters and wrote an in depth review trying it with some Liquid Sand shades. I recommend you read that review if you haven't already,  I also included another good use for this product. I had a lot of great comments and tips and so I gave it another try using a glitter bomb mani with top coat. Keep reading to see if my results have changed!

  • One of the changes for this second attempt at using Glitter Off as a base coat was a thinner coat. I covered the nail but with a thin coat. It dried in a few minutes compared to the 10 minutes last time. That was definitely a plus!
  • Once it was clear, I painted three coats of OPI Teenage Dream and one coat of Seche Vite top coat.
Isn't this such a gorgeous glitter?

  • One of the tips I had from a reader on the last review was to wait three hours before coming into contact with warm water. (Last time, I used cold water to wash my hands about an hour after I did my nails and had a nail peel off!). So I made sure to wait a few hours before even washing my hands.
  • Fast forward to twenty hours later, I had one mysteriously clean nail. I don't even know where the polish went, but it all popped off in one sheet without me knowing. I didn't get a chance to take a shower in that 20 hour window so I can't comment on how they do in warm water for that long, but I did wash my hands a lot and it lasted 20 hours this time around.
  • Removal was a bit more difficult this time. I really had to get the corner of my cuticle pusher under the polish and pry it up before I could get it to pop off. And that's exactly what it did-- POP off in one piece once I got a corner up.

  • Once again, I didn't notice any nail damage this time around so that was a good thing. I was nervous using a thinner coat of Glitter Off for this reason.
  • I had hardly any glitter left on the edges, as you can see below, and just used one wipe to clean all of my nails with polish remover.

So in conclusion, the best way for me to use OPI Glitter Off is a thin coat under glitter with top coat. It will still be a one night use (maybe sparkly nails for a date night!) but I am happy it worked better than with the Liquid Sands. I hope this was helpful for you, remember that everyone has different nail chemistry so it could last longer or shorter on your nails. I think I'll still use it most often around my nails for easy gradient and water marble cleanup, as I showed in my first review.

Thanks so much for reading!

*The base coat in this post was sent for me to review with my honest opinion.
