The Digit-al Dozen DOES Texture, Day 2: Lava Flow Nail Art!

Good morning, readers! I have my second manicure for Texture Week with The Digit-al Dozen to share with you today! I am pretty stoked about how this one came out! I was inspired by some lava rocks in our fire pit that I noticed last night while watching the kids on the playset, but I didn't want to do another "rock" mani after the fossil one yesterday. So a lava flow incorporated the texture of the dried lava rock and the lava as well.

I started off with a neon orange polish and let dry. Then I layered one coat of Sinful Colors Black On Black, followed by a coat of Sinful Colors Smokin'. I let those dry for a few minutes and then applied one coat of the matte top coat from Butter London.

After a few minutes, I used my index finger on my right hand and pressed the polish and tried to slide it across the nail to create the ridges and bring the orange out. I did go back in with a nail art brush and add in some more orange if it pushed it off to show the bare nail. I also added a bit of yellow in places like you see with lava. No top coat after this step, since the texture is what this week is all about!

What do you think? As I said above, I'm pretty pumped about how this turned out! Lava is messy and I couldn't really ruin it so I had fun smushing the polish in different directions. Thanks so much for reading! Come back tomorrow to see my next texture mani with The Digit-al Dozen!
