Barielle Hand/Nail Care Product Review!

Press Sample

Let's talk hand and nail care for a minute! We all love having pretty polished nails, but we can't forget to take care of those hands and nails to keep them healthy. Moisturizing is my biggest tip as a fellow nail polish lover! When I was accepted to the blogger program with Barielle, I asked if I could review some hand care items and not just nail polish. For me, it's so important to take care of your nails and hands and not just cover them up. So here is a review of the three nail/hand care products I wanted to try out for you: 60 Second Mani-Pedi, Nail Strengthener Cream, and Intensive Hand Treatment Cream.

Barielle 60 Second Mani-Pedi
Exfoliating scrub with Dead Sea Salts & fresh mandarin scent.
Directions: Gently mix salt & oil until blended before each use. Apply a generous amount to hands or feet. Rub in a circular motion for natural and effective exfoliation of dead skin cells. Scrub around nail beds to exfoliate cuticles and increase circulation. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Massage remaining oil into skin and cuticles.
I've used this a handful of times already! I keep it in the shower so I can scrub my feet often! The scent is fresh and not very citrusy even though I was expecting citrus. The scrubbing works really well for my feet and hands, and the oil is really nice for moisturizing the skin. One BIG tip for you that I wish I had thought of before using the second time: do NOT use if you have any cuts on your hands or feet. I didn't even put two and two together about this being a SALT scrub and I really hurt my hand that had a recent (deep) paper cut. It took me a minute of freaking out in the shower and running it under the water to figure out why it was burning. LOL! So that's a little stupid on my part, of course salt hurts open wounds, but I just wanted to warn you as well! All in all, a good scrub, but I wish it had a fruitier scent as a personal preference.
(As you can see, I've used this a lot before taking the photos!)

Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream
For healthier, stronger nails.
Directions: Massage over nails and cuticles daily, don't worry-- it can be applied over nail polish! Use 2-3 times a day. For best results, apply before bed to give it time to penetrate into your nails and cuticles while you sleep! It takes roughly 3-4 weeks to see a noticeable improvement.
This is a great nail and cuticle cream, especially if you don't like the feeling of oil or oil-based cuticle balms! I can't speak of any changes in my nails yet, but I vary between this on my cuticles and cuticle oil because my nails soak up oil. It doesn't take much to do all 10 nails, this jar will probably last me forever! It has a very plain smell so you can pair it with any lotion with no problem.

Barielle Intensive Hand Treatment Cream
For rough, dry, chapped hands.
Directions: Massage into hands twice a day, once in the morning after bathing and once again in the evening before bed. For best results: allow cream to penetrate overnight.
Oh so many good things to say about this hand cream! I am a BIG advocate for using cuticle oil/balm and a thick hand cream right before bed EVERY night. I've been searching for thick hand cream for a while, and I've found it! I have been using it at least twice a day for a month or so and I love it! You don't need a ton, see my photo below on my hand, and it really moisturizes. It causes one of the strangest feelings I've ever experienced while applying lotion though: after rubbing my hands all over for a few seconds, it starts to get a tad sticky while its absorbing, but then out of no where-- BAM! it's silky smooth when you rub your hands together. My theory is that it melts into your warm skin. I've had several people try it and they all say it does the same thing. Such a funny surprise! I am absolutely happy with this and plan to continue to use it twice a day!
(As you can see below, It doesn't take much for both hands.)
