Digit-al Dozen Dotting Days, #1: Half Moon Dotticure Gradient!

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! You are in for a treat this week! Some of us from the Digit-al Dozen are dedicating this week to DOTS! You will see dotticures all week from me, so get excited for some easy-to-recreate nail art! I also have 37 new Milani Color Statement polishes to try so I'm going to be using a lot of them this week.

Let's take a look at the polishes I used for today's look:

Milani Spotlight White: A white creme. I used two coats for the base of the nail art below. It was slightly uneven so three coats may work best if it will be worn alone.
Milani Tattle Teal: A teal creme.
Milani Water Front: An aqua blue creme.
Milani Blue Print: A deep periwinkle/blurple creme that leans to the blue side.
Milani Imperial Purple: A purple creme.

After letting two coats of Milani Spotlight White dry, I used a small dotting tool and Milani Imperial Purple to create the illusion of a "line" of dots in a half moon shape. Then, I filled in a second "line" of purple dots moving toward the tip. Next, I repeated those steps with each Milani Blue Print, Milani Water Front, and Milani Tattle Teal. I was going for a "gradient" effect because the dots interlock so well.

I used HK Girl top coat to seal them all in once the dots were dry.

What do you think of this look? It's so easy to create if you start with the "half moon" shaped dotted line at the cuticle first and move toward the tip from there. I started with the middle dot of the purple line and then dotted in a curved line on each side. You could even add a circle sticker/ half moon mani guide to first block off where you don't want the dots if you aren't feeling confident enough.

Milani Color Statement cremes worked really well for this manicure because there are opaque enough to see the true color with just a dot. I use a TON of Milani polishes in my nail art, and I can't wait to try out some of the other new Color Statement colors this week!

You can purchase the Milani Color Statement polishes starting at $3.99 each at CVS stores nationwide. They are also available at the Milani Cosmetics Website HERE.
