Swatch Sunday: OPI SoftShades Collection 2015

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! I have swatches of the new OPI SoftShades Collection for you this morning. I am a huge fan of brights and have been loving all of the neon collections lately, so I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed trying these out. A palette cleanser, feminine and bridal? Whatever the reason, I really like them so let's take a look!

OPI Chiffon My Mind
Sheer white with shimmer.
I'm showing four thin coats below without top coat.
This was my favorite in the bottle but I wish it didn't take so many coats to get rid of the patchiness. The shimmer is gorgeous, though.

OPI Put it in Neutral
Pink toned beige.
I'm showing three coats  below without top coat.
I'm not sure that you could ever build this up to not show some VNL, but that's what I like about it. This is one of my favorites from the collection, it gave my bare nails a nice pink tone without taking away from the look of a natural nail. The pink works well with my skin tone.

OPI Act Your Beige!
Light Beige.
I'm showing three coats below without top coat.
This one was still a little streaky at 3 coats.

OPI Make Light of the Situation
Iridescent glitter topper.
I'm showing only one coat over Put it in Neutral with top coat below.
THIS! This is my favorite combination of the collection. I've already worn it as a pedicure as well. Sparkly but feminine and understated. You could even do some white french tips over Put it in Neutral and add Make Light of the Situation on top for a slightly bolder look. Super love.

OPI Petal Soft
Pink and white flecked with white daisy shaped glitter.
I'm showing one coat over Act Your Beige! with top coat.
The glitter spread easily. The daisies don't always come out on the brush, as you can see that only 2 of 4 nails got them on the first try. You can shake before application and have a better chance of a daisy. It needed 2 coats of top coat to seal in the large glitter pieces with my rounded nails.

OPI This Silver's Mine!
Pearlescent silver.
I'm showing three coats below without top coat.
There are definitely visible brushstrokes and it's my least favorite from the collection. To me, it's a miss and I always wonder why colors like this are released.

So what do you think of the new OPI SoftShades Collection? Would you wear these neutral colors, or maybe layer the toppers over brights? There are also going to be kits and GelColor available, info on those below. Thanks so much for reading!

      2. All of these are gorgeous, even the silver, because it would probably work in a marble or with a glitter or shimmer topcoat to hide the brush strokes. Thanks for sharing. It's given me some great ideas, if I can manage to get hold of some of these colours in the future.
