Elixir Lacquers Roller Derby Ruckus!

Hello readers! I have another post for you today, and it is on a couple more new Elixir Lacquers! I have 2 of the new Roller Derby Ruckus Collection polishes to share with you tonight-- Shamrock Shakedown and Missy Mayhem.

First of all, I LOVE the names! So cute!

Shamrock Shakedown and Missy Mayhem!

Both are glitter toppers in a clear base so I've chosen coordinating base creme polishes to layer them over.

Let's start with Shamrock Shakedown! I'm showing 2 coats with top coat over Essie Mojito Madness. A clear base with hexes in greens, gold and yellow, as well as squares in gold and iridescent glitter. I liked this one more than I expected, and I think it has to do with the gold squares! They were so luxurious on the nail! This applied easily and I had no issues to report.

More rainbows!

Onward to Missy Mayhem! I've layered only one coat over Butter London Sprog with top coat below. This glitter mixture has my very favorite colors in one place! Purple, teal, periwinkle, white, and iridescent blue. There are squares and hexes and it's a really fun combo! My only concern is that the iridescent blue hexes can appear an odd olive green color at the wrong angles to the light. You will see in my photos that they sort of look out of place on this base color. However, I had no issues with application at all.

Notice the odd olive green glitter on my pinky.

Such a gorgeous color combo!

So what do you think of these two polishes from the upcoming Elixir Lacquers Roller Derby Ruckus Collection? This collection will be available on February 1st.

Elixir Lacquers LE Elixiversary Swatches!

Hello readers! Have you missed me? ;) Boy, has it been crazy around here! We moved the first week in December from Georgia to Florida and bought our first house! It's been a whirlwind of chaos around here with the holidays as well as setting up the new house so blogging had to take the back seat for a bit. Things haven't calmed down that much as far as the house goes, but at least the holidays are over so it frees up a teeny bit of time for me to get some blog posts up for you.

I have a handful of polishes waiting to be swatched and I hope you are excited because Monday starts this month's Digital Dozen nail art week! The theme is Art so make sure you come see what I have in store!

As for today's post, I have a special polish to show you! Elixir Lacquers is having it's first Anniversary and Nicole created this gorgeous glitter polish in celebration of it! It's called Elixiversary and will be limited edition with only 75 bottles available. There will be three releases with 25 bottles available in each so I hope you get to snag one! The release dates are at 1:00pm EST on: January 16th, February 16th, and March 16th.

Elixiversary is a multishaped and multicolored glitter topper in a clear base. There are a ton of different shapes, and I am seeing white, blue, purple, pink, silver holo, and iridescent micro glitter! I think it would look great over a lot of colors and I chose to layer it over Illamasqua Noble. The blue squares and circles kind of blend into the base color at a distance, though, so maybe next time I'll try it over a color not so close to one of the glitters.

The glitters are heavy so I flipped my bottle upside down for a few minutes prior to application to make them sink back to the top. This is two coats over the base color. I did have to dab and place a few glitters where I wanted them and I didn't get any of the really large white hex on my nails, but overall this gorgeous glitter topper was worth the extra effort. I love the extra added sparkle of the iridescent micro glitters as well!

Circles, squares, hexes, and diamonds!

Hello, pretty rainbow!

Check out that iridescent micro glitter!

What do you think of Elixiversary? Will you be trying to get your hands on one of the 75 Limited Edition bottles? Happy Anniversary, Elixir Lacquers!

Elixir Lacquers Lov-a-Bully Polishes!

Good morning, readers! I have another post of Elixir Lacquers for you, today! This time I have 4 of the Lov-a-Bully Collection. There are 7 in total, and you can see the rest of the swatches on Nicole's Blog HERE. This collection is so special because it was inspired by Bully breed dogs and 10% of each bottle sold is donated to Atlanta Bully Rescue-- "an organization that works tirelessly to reduce the number of unwanted bully breeds in Atlanta and surrounding areas by finding them their forever homes!" Gorgeous polish for a great cause!

Smokey Coat, Brindle, Happy Tears, and Forever Home.

I decided to do a little nail art for these swatches so I did the little doggy from the Atlanta Bully Rescue logo:

First up is Smokey Coat. "Smokey Coat is a deep charcoal grey with a dusting of holographic particles. It was inspired by Sadie, who was able to find her forever home, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!" I'm showing two coats with top coat. It went on very easily and was a little gritty so I needed two coats of top coat. The holographic sparkles are a pretty addition! The holo is showing as silver shimmer in my photos but in the sun it comes out to play a bit!

Next, we have Brindle. "Brindle is a clear coat packed with brown micro and orange holographic micro glitters, along with black hexes. It was inspired by Lucy, who was able to find her forever home, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!" I'm showing one coat over Smokey Coat below with top coat. I love this polish! The holo orange glitter is so unique and you can even see it in my lightbox photos(which is saying something!). It applied easily and I didn't have to move the big hexes around too much.

One coat! And look at those rainbows!

Happy Tears is next! "Happy Tears is a slightly shimmery royal blue jelly packed with mini blue squares and white hexes. It was inspired by the beautiful eyes of sweet little Kieran, who found his forever home thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!" Nicole showed this over a blue base color but I wanted to see if it could be worn on it's own so I tried three coats. Next time, base color haha! It's gorgeous, the shimmer is amazing! I didn't have trouble getting the white hexes out, either! Just had to push them around a bit if too many came out on the brush. Showing three coats with top coat.

Shimmery goodness!

Lastly, we have Forever Home. "Forever Home is a clear coat filled with red hearts, mini blue squares, and black & white hexes. It was inspired by the amazing and selfless Atlanta Bully Rescue." I think this is my favorite of the 4! I did have to tip it upside down for a bit before use to get the heavier red hearts closer to the top. I had to fish around in the bottle for them, but I have a mini bottle and I find that is common with bigger glitter because the brush doesn't reach as far down in those little bottles. I'm showing one coat over BB Couture Dance with top coat.

So what do you think of these polishes? Which is your favorite? I love them and especially love the theme and cause behind this collection!

Elixir Lacquers are $10 each (15ml bottle)

Elixir Lacquers Wynter Wonders!

Good morning, readers! I have a gorgeous glitter polish to show you today from Elixir Lacquers! Wynter Wonders is part of the new Holiday Trio. Nicole already shows it over white, aqua, and purples so I was wanting to try a different base to give you an idea of the different looks you can get. I decided to go with a light pink, Essie French Affair, and I like that all of the colors show up on it!

Wynter Wonders is a clear jelly base loaded with holographic micro glitter, silver holographic squares, satin ice blue squares, and matte lavender hexes. The holographic micro glitter is SO SPARKLY! I wish you could see it in person because the light box doesn't show it off. The bigger glitters were "swimming" in the base a bit so I had to move some around to get them where I wanted on the nail, but you are seeing only one coat below! Definitely packed nicely and I didn't feel the need for a second coat.

I thought a snowflake stamp design from the new Cheeky Summer Collection stamp plate CH33 set would look nice with this wintery mani! I stamped with Essie Blue Rhapsody.

How gorgeous is this bottle shot!? Such a pretty color combo of glitter!

Holo silver square is trying to show off it's rainbow of colors on my middle finger!

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
2 coats of Essie French Affair
1 coat of Elixir Lacquers Wynter Wonders
1 coat of Poshe top coat

Stamped with Essie Blue Rhapsody and Cheeky plate CH33.

What do you think? I love how delicate this glitter combo is. Reminds me of when we lived in Alaska a few years ago!

The Elixir Lacquers Holiday Trio is up for pre-order right now for only $25. It will be available as a set or individually for $10 each(15ml bottle) starting November 23rd.  Nicole is going to ship out international pre-orders immediately so there is a better chance that they will get there in time for the holidays!

Nov 23rd, you can order them HERE: http://www.elixirlacquers.com/main.sc
