Swatch Saturday: Rainbow Honey The Final Battle!

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! It's Swatch Saturday and this week I have three of the new Rainbow Honey The Final Battle collection polishes to share with you! The Final Battle is split into three parts and I have one polish from each part.

Here is some more info on the new collection:

"The Final Battle brings us 15 new shades inspired by Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII. Often touted as 'the game that sold the PlayStation,' FFVII was a long and grueling gaming experience full of heavy thematic elements and strife. The game touches on eco-terrorism, over-industrialization, and the expectations and challenges we battle over the course of life.

Part I, The Battle, plays off of some of the main elements of the game: the heroes and the ultimate face-off between the Planet's Lifestream and the Meteor: Phoenix Down is a nod to the recurring battle item throughout the Final Fantasy series.

Part II, The Summons, depicts five of the attacks used by the beasts and monsters summoned in the game- a crucial part of any important battle!

Part III takes its name from The Weapons created by the Planet as a form of self defense. These bio-mechanical monsters were massive and powerful and I have taken the chance to create a durable and colorful interpretation of each one. They are smooth, shine bright with metallic shimmer, and make a great base for the many glitters in this collection!   --Dee"

I love the unique inspiration that goes into these collections by Rainbow Honey!

Once again, they come in these adorable boxes!

I received Ruby Weapon, Diamond Dust, and Cetra!

Let's go in order, starting with the polish from Part I: Cetra!

Cetra is a sheer pink full of shimmer and iridescence reminiscent of a lady long since gone. This is such a girly pink! It's on the thicker side and it's jelly-ish so I've done two coats with no top coat below. It had great coverage, I almost stopped at one coat, but wanted to see how the VNL (visible nail line) changed and the second coat helped! Because its on the thicker side, make sure you let the first coat dry before adding the second or you will drag the first coat off. Very pretty, I will for sure let my 5 year old wear this sometime!

From Part II, I received Diamond Dust!

Diamond Dust is frost, ice, and shimmer come together with a fine holographic sparkle in a clear base. After seeing teaser pics on the Rainbow Honey FB page, this was the exciting one for me! I am expecting to see this over some dark colors so I wanted to show it off on it's own for you. It's also on the thicker side like Cetra, but not as thick. I've done two coats below with no top coat. There is a gorgeous blue/purple flash that was very apparent in person and I know it would show up really well over a black base. As with Cetra, let the first coat dry before adding a second.

From Part III, I have Ruby Weapon.

Ruby Weapon is a darkened ruby red with copper and gold shimmer. This was the winner for me! It's thin and really gorgeous! I did do three coats below with no top coat because it was thinner than the other two, but much easier to work with and it build up beautifully. I can't wait to wear this for the holiday season or a date night!

Gradient: Rainbow Honey, The Summer of 199X!

Good morning, readers! Today is the release day for the new Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X Collection! I was sent three of the new colors to review and I'm showing you how I wore them! I figured that you would already be seeing tons of swatches so this is a little more fun for me!

Here is some info on the new collection:

"Rainbow Honey is pleased to present its newest collection, Summer of 199X - featuring 10 new colors inspired by the 1995 SNES hit, Earthbound.

"Another video game that holds a special place in my heart! I wanted this collection to bring me back into the game, and I think each new lacquer takes me to a special moment or reminds me of a certain boss that resulted in one too many Game Over's... Part I is made up of 5 new glitterbombs bursting with shimmer and color - they all layer to opacity but can be used over other colors as well. Part II is 3 new shimmer-dusted cremes and 2 new glitter toppers that give each creme a bold or sweet look. I am so excited to add these all to our lineup!" – Dee"

I was sent three gorgeous polishes from Part II and couldn't be happier with the ones they chose to send me! (Please note: my bottles are the mini 4ml size bottles. The photo on my box above shows what the full size bottles look like)

Tessie, I Miss You, and Mint Flavor.

Here is how I wore these new colors! Tessie and Mint Flavor got their own nails and then I did a gradient of the two on the accent nails, topped with I Miss You. All swatches are shown with top coat.

Tessie: "No need to join the Tessie-Watching Club when you can have this dusty and shimmery periwinkle creme at your fingertips." Tessie is my favorite of the three and it applied beautifully! Two easy coats with top coat shown above. The shimmer is gorgeous!

Mint Flavor: "Part aqua, part baby blue, part shimmer, this was hands down the best window flavor. Because...you taste windows, right?" Mint Flavor is another beauty and I can't get over the shimmer! So gorgeous! I'm showing three coats with top coat above. It was a little patchy with the first two so the third coat smoothed it out pretty well.

I Miss You: "A pastel rainbow of glitters and shimmer, these butterflies are sure to cure the homesick traveler." I Miss You is such a pretty and delicate combo of glitters and shimmer! I can't wait to wear this over more colors. I'm showing 1 1/2 coats on top of the gradient. The glitter came out easily but I did dab on a few bigger glitters after the first coat. Shown with top coat above.

What do you think of these gorgeous new polishes? And tell me your thoughts on this kind of review post instead of the usual full hand swatches of each color? I have more fun wearing the polishes this way! Thanks for reading!

tenda is a bright kelly green lacquer with golden shimmer

schrammi is a deep coral lacquer with golden shimmer

costa del sol is a shimmery lacquer full of iridescent and holographic glitters ready to add some sun and sparkle to your manicure

The FAB Summer Set is now available through fab.com for a limited time only. Each set contains 3 full size 15ml nail lacquers designed exclusively for FAB by Rainbow Honey. $25. While supplies last. For more information visit http://fab.com/designer/rainbow-honey/

The set comes in this super adorable packaging!

(PLEASE NOTE: My set was of mini polishes, but they are full sized polishes on Fab.com)

Schrammi is a deep coral lacquer with a golden shimmer. I'm showing two easy coats below with no top coat. I love this color! The golden shimmer is gorgeous! No issues to report.

Tenda is a bright kelly green lacquer with golden shimmer. It was thinner than Schrammi and didn't level out as easily so it took three coats with top coat for the photos below. I can't get over the gold shimmer in these two! So pretty!

Costa del sol is a shimmery lacquer full of iridescent and holographic glitters. It is a goregous topper that pairs perfectly with Schrammi and Tenda! I'm showing one coat over both below with top coat. I had no issues getting the glitter out.

Hello there, pretty holo glitters!

What are your thoughts on this cute summer set? I love the trio and how they all compliment each other and can be worn in the same mani!!

Again, the FAB Summer Set is now available through fab.com for a limited time only. Each set contains 3 full size 15ml nail lacquers designed exclusively for FAB by Rainbow Honey. $25. While supplies last. For more information visit http://fab.com/designer/rainbow-honey/

Eager Eyes is 20% Cooler!

I've updated my Blog Sale! Go check it out!

Good morning, readers! I have a mani with 2 different indie brand polishes today that I think go great together! I had just put on DandyNails Eager Eyes(from her newest collection) when the mail arrived this weekend with another Copious.com purchase-- Rainbow Honey 20% Cooler. Holding the bottle for my "nail mail" picture to post to my Facebook page, I realized that they looked great together! I changed my mind for my original mani and put 20% Cooler over Eager Eyes, and then decided to mattify it! Love how it turned out!

Also, I got a new "light tent" in the mail and am getting used to taking my pictures in it instead of my old homemade light box. Tell me what you think of these pics!

I love the colors of the glitter in 20% Cooler!

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
3 coats of DandyNails Eager Eyes
1 coat of Rainbow Honey 20% Cooler
1 coat of MASH Matte Top Coat

Here is a swatch of Eager Eyes before I added 20% Cooler. It's packed with little holo shimmers but I can't capture that in the light tent because the light is "softened" and the weather wasn't nice enough for sun photos this weekend.

What do you think of this combo? Thanks for reading!
