Sea Lore FALLing For Nemo Week, Day 5: Crushin' It!

Press Sample

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! Woohoo! Unfortunately, that means its the final day of Sea Lore FALLing For Nemo Week, but I've had a great time! I love this collection and inspiration behind it. These would be a great holiday gift for a fellow Finding Nemo fan (anyone else anxiously awaiting the release of Finding Dory?!).

The final polish is called Crushin' It, inspired by the sea turtle named Crush that found Marlin and Dory and helped them ride the EAC (East Australian Current) to get to Nemo.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Black and White, Day 1: Killer Snowmen!

This post
 has a previous

Good morning, readers! Happy Veterans Day to all of you out there, especially to Mr. Adventures In Acetone- I am so blessed to have you for a husband, best friend, and father to our babies!

It's Black and White week with The Digit-al Dozen! This was a challenging week for me, and as of today, I'm only half way done with my designs. I have some ideas for the last 2, so I hope they work out.

Today's post is another evil character found in one of our favorite shows: Doctor Who! These are the killer snowmen from the Christmas special called The Snowmen. I had a hard time thinking of non-snowy scenes for this theme week so at least I made it a bit creepy. Ha!

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 5: Dancing Discus!

Good morning, readers! I have the final polish in the Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection to show you today.  If you missed my 4 previous posts on the other Spring Seas Collection polishes, you can find them below:

Leaping Lyretail
Jumping Jellyfish

Dancing Discus is, "a sheer soft peach with a shifting blue violet glow. She has various sizes of iridescent hexes, blue green squares and tiny golden glitters." This polish can be layered over various colors for different looks. You can see a picture of that HERE from the Sea Lore Facebook page. I chose to wear 3 coats on it's own with one coat of top coat. It is great for nude polish lovers but the shimmer and blue flash really grabbed my attention! I loved it way more than I expected to at first glance. Very glowy from within!

Here was my photo inspiration for my nail art of a Discus Fish:

I tried to do a little Discus Fish on my accent nail for you.

Look at that gorgeous blue flash!

What do you think of this final polish in the Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection? It turns out that I like it so much more than I thought I would! I love those kinds of surprises!

Here is a bottle shot of the collection for you:

Leaping Lyretail, Dancing Discus, Popping Parrotfish, Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse.

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 4: Popping Parrotfish!

Hello, readers! I have the fourth polish in the new Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection to show you today! If you missed my 3 previous posts on the other Spring Seas Collection polishes, you can find them below:

Leaping Lyretail
Jumping Jellyfish

Popping Parrotfish is a light mint creme with a sparkling green base and a glitter rainbow! The base has a beautiful shimmer and the colors of glitters compliment it nicely. I'm showing two coats below with two coats of top coat. Make sure you let the first coat dry before adding the second to prevent any glitter dragging off the first coat. I love how the base is a creme and yet you can still easily see the different glitters floating in it!

If you are unfamiliar with Parrotfish, here is a photo I used from google image search to inspire my nail art:

Here is my swatch with my attempt at a parrotfish:

Look at that shimmer! That may be my favorite part of Sea Lore polishes!

My Parrotfish really looks like a cross between a parrot bird and a fish LOL!

Tell me your thoughts on the fourth polish in the new Spring Seas Collection! Stay tuned for the last polish in the Spring Seas Collection!

In case you missed it, here is a picture of the whole collection:

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 3: Springing Seahorse!

Hello, readers! I have the third polish in the Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection for you today! I think it is another favorite for me and I did a fun layering combination with it. If you missed my 2 previous posts on the other Spring Seas Collection polishes, you can find them below:

Leaping Lyretail
Jumping Jellyfish

Springing Seahorse is a sparkling purple iridescent base with various shades of purple glitters. It is a beautiful glitter topper and I chose to layer ONE coat over Dior St. Tropez. I love the contrast- the gorgeous shimmer really shows it's colors against this base. (The combo reminds me of RBL Aqua Lily, which I LOVE!) It applied easily without having to manipulate the glitter and was smooth to the touch after one coat of top coat.

I did a cute little seahorse on my accent nail as well!

Will you LOOK at that shimmer? Gorgeous.

Tell me your thoughts on the third polish in the new Spring Seas Collection! Stay tuned for the other 2 polishes in the Spring Seas Collection!

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 2: Jumping Jellyfish!

Hello, readers! I have another polish from the new Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection to show you today!  If you missed my first post, you can find it here: http://www.adventuresinacetone.com/2013/04/sea-lore-spring-seas-collection-day-1.html.

Jumping Jellyfish is a cerulean blue jelly with tiny light blue glitters and blue circle glitter. The shimmer is so pretty, I love this polish! It is a jelly so I'm showing three coats with top coat and there was still a bit of visible nail line. Easy application with no issues to report!

I did a simple jelly fish on my index finger as well:

Tell me your thoughts on the second polish in the new Spring Seas Collection! Stay tuned for the other 3 polishes in the Spring Seas Collection!

In case you missed it, here is a picture of the whole collection:
Leaping Lyretail, Dancing Discus, Popping Parrotfish, Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse.

Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection Day 1: Leaping Lyretail!

Hello readers! Today, Sea Lore launched a new collection called Spring Seas! It is 5 polishes: Leaping Lyretail, Dancing Discus, Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse, and Popping Parrotfish. I'm going to show each one in their own post with a little nail art to go with the name of the polish!

My favorite of the group is the one I chose to wear first: Leaping Lyretail! It is a gorgeous and vibrant hot pink jelly with white squares, yellow and pink hexes and hot pink circle glitter! I'm showing 2-3 coats below with top coat. This is packed with glitter so let each coat dry before adding the next as to not cause it to drag off any previous glitter. I can't get enough of this color combination and instead of swatching the collection, I had to stop on this and wear it as a full mani.

This image was Jamie's inspiration:

And here is my cartoon version of a Lyretail fish over the gorgeous polish:

Tell me your thoughts on the first polish in the new Spring Seas Collection! I did not expect to pick the pink as my favorite but I couldn't help it! Stay tuned for the other 4 polishes in the Spring Seas Collection!

Sea Lore Wintry Friends Day 5: Beluga Blizzard!

Hello readers! Today's post is the final polish of Sea Lore's new Wintry Friends Collection. I hope you got to see the previous 4 posts on Glacial Grayling, Snowy Seal, Wintry Whale, and Arctic Otter. Be sure to check them out if you missed any of them, these polishes are gorgeous!

Our final polish is called Beluga Blizzard. This is the only one from the collection that I wore a base color with. I'm guessing you can get it to full coverage after 3-4 coats but I chose to layer one coat over Milani White On The Spot to save time. It's a great topper and looks awesome over other colors, too.  You can see a nail wheel photo of Beluga Blizzard over other base colors on Sea Lore's Facebook Page HERE. I think I'll do some wintry nail art with it this season!

As with the others in this collection, it's a hungry glitter so 2 coats of top coat or the use of Gelous is recommended. It went on easily and is described as a "pearl white iridescent shimmering base with various shades of snow white glitter." The iridescent shimmers looked blue and pink to me in person and I *think* I got them to show enough in one of my pictures for you to see. GORGEOUS complexity to this white glitter polish. I did a beluga whale for my accent nail.

You can see some of the blue iridescent shimmer on my middle and index finger.

Hi there, baby beluga!

What do you think of Beluga Blizzard? When we were at Sea World last winter, we got to see the beluga whales and Hailey loved them! Did you know that they are called "sea canaries" because they sing underwater when they are communicating?

I hope you enjoyed these 5 posts on the new Wintry Friends Collection from Sea Lore! Here is a little picture collage with all of them:

Which are your favorites?

Sea Lore Wintry Friends Day 4: Arctic Otter!

Good morning! It's time for the next polish from Sea Lore's Wintry Friends Collection! If you missed my last 3 posts on Glacial Grayling, Snowy Seal, and Wintry Whale, please be sure to check them out!

Today I have Arctic Otter! Jamie describes it as a "dark brown shimmering base with beige squares and tiny champagne glitter." It is so shimmery that it reminds me of a metallic brown! I had no issues with application and I am showing 2 coats with 2 coats of top coat. Make sure you let the first coat dry before adding the second to prevent any dragging. It's a hungry glitter so Gelous or two coats of your favorite top coat will help with the texture. I decided to do a cute little otter head on my accent nail!

Such a pretty brown polish!!

Hi little otter!

Look at the flakies!

This was my husband's favorite when we were looking at the bottles when they came in the mail. It is definitely gorgeous and I am so happy I have it in my collection! I don't have many browns and this one is a winner! What do you think of Arctic Otter? We took a boat tour when we lived in Alaska and we got to see the otters floating around on their backs in the ocean! They are so adorable!

I can't wait to show you the final polish in the Sea Lore Wintry Friends Collection so check back tomorrow for that! Thanks for reading!
