My Halloween Mani: The Silence Nail Art!
Happy Halloween! I wanted to show you what I'm currently wearing on my nails for the holiday. I am slowly making my way through the tons of nail art ideas inspired by Doctor Who. I thought The Silence would make good, creepy nails for Halloween because they are one of the scariest species on the tv series.

Glam Polish Angry Birds In Space + Nail Art!
Press Sample
Hello, readers! I have another Glam Polish for review today. This one is called Angry Birds in Space and I really like it! The base color really grabbed my attention among the others I got in the package. It's a gorgeous medium periwinkle toned base with neon hex and square glitter. I finally realized it was because its the same color as one of my favorite polishes, Illamasqua Cameo! I think they would go great together layered but I chose to wear Angry Birds In Space on it's own-- it had great coverage at 2 coats.

Tutorial Tuesday: Pond Pumpkins Nail Art!
Hello, readers! Today's Tutorial Tuesday post is my design I posted yesterday: Pond Pumpkins Halloween nail art. I'm actually STILL wearing this mani from Sunday, I love it THAT much! I hope you will recreate it and love it as well!
This is a variation on my earlier Pond Hearts Nail Art Tutorial, which was inspired by this original post by Olive View Fashion. I just wanted to show how versatile this pond mani technique can be by showing a "halloween version."
A few tips before I begin the tutorial:
This is a variation on my earlier Pond Hearts Nail Art Tutorial, which was inspired by this original post by Olive View Fashion. I just wanted to show how versatile this pond mani technique can be by showing a "halloween version."
A few tips before I begin the tutorial:
- For this technique, you have to use a jelly polish(I've used OPI Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear? from the Texas Collection). It just really won't work the right way with non-jelly polishes. If you don't have any, you can always add some colored polish to a clear polish bottle and mix together to make a jelly.
- You have a lot of waiting in between steps to let the layers dry. Don't rush it or you will smear your pumpkins. So I recommend turning on Netflix and catching up on some Doctor Who or The Vampire Diaries while you wait in between each layer. ;)
Here is a preview of the tutorial. You will find bigger pictures and step by step instructions further down in this post:

Swatch Saturday: Milani Limited Edition Fall Textured Creams!
Press Sample
Good morning, readers! Today's Swatch Saturday post features the Limited Edition Fall Textured Creams by Milani! If you missed my post on the original Milani Textured Creams back in April, you may not have known that Milani had their own version of textured polishes. I like that they stand out from most of the other brands by having creams and not shimmers/glitters.

Indigo Bananas Skittlette!
Press Sample
Good morning, readers! Today's post is one that I previewed on my instagram (@adventuresinacetone) last weekend, so come follow if you aren't already! I post manis on there that don't make it to this blog occasionally. This was the mani I wore the entire weekend with barely any tip wear and I loved it! The color combo was so fun and the blingy pinky accent nail sealed the deal.
The polishes used were all from Indigo Bananas and really gorgeous! Here are their descriptions straight from the Etsy Shop:
Immortal Game: "Immortal Game is a teal / aqua 'crelly' (pastel jelly / creme hybrid) packed with lavender-pink to gold duochrome glass fleck pigment of a very large particle size, so the shimmer is very obvious and strong. There is also subtle scattered purple flecks as well as a small amount of holographic microfine glitter in this - neither of which want to show up for the camera!"
Electric Unicorns: "Do androids dream of electric sheep? No. They dream of electric unicorns!
Electric Unicorns is a periwinkle blue (or a medium, blue leaning lavender) creme packed with pale green duochrome glass flecks that also shift a green blue, and a stronger blue at steeper angles. There is also a scattering of superfine pink shimmer, as well as small amounts of holographic silver shimmer - neither is super obvious, but gives this polish extra sparkle in the sun."
Moonlight (Clair de lune): "'Moonlight' (Clair de lune) is a super shiny, real silver flakie based polish that has purple, black and holographic microglitter in it - the effect is super silvery, metallic and smooth but with an interesting visual texture. Very chromelike indoors and very sparkly in the sun/outdoors. (Part of a duo set with "Earthshine (clair de terre)", a set inspired by Offenbach's opere 'Le voyage dans la lune' which is in turn based on Jules Vernes' 'From the Earth the Moon'.) "
I've done 2 coats of Immortal Game above, stamped with Bundle Monster BM-411 and Pure Ice Silver Star, and used a detail brush and Moonlight to add extra sparkle to the hearts in the stamp design. Topped with one coat of HK Girl top coat. Immortal Game applied easily and the duochrome flecks are really apparent in this macro! Absolutely love it!
I've done 2 coats of Electric Unicorns above, with HK Girl top coat. It applied easily and the shimmer is a gorgeous color combo!
Above, I have 4 coats of Moonlight (Clair de lune). I almost stopped at 3 because it seemed like enough coverage but added a 4th for good measure. I can't get over how amazing this polish is, so blingy and in the sun you can see holo micro shimmer as well! LOVE LOVE LOVE
The bottles together are gorgeous as well!
You can purchase Indigo Bananas polishes at the shop link below. They retail from $5.75 to $14.50 depending on the polish bottle size and ingredients.

Tutorial Tuesday: Abstract Candy Corn Nail Art!
Good morning, readers! I have a really simple tutorial for today, it was part of my Nail Junkie Halloween post yesterday and I had a lot more feedback from it on Instagram than I thought I would so I'm going to show you how simple it is!
As I said in my post yesterday, this is inspired by the "earthquake design" I saw on Beauty Gnome HERE. I just made mine with colors to represent candy corn and it is so easy that anyone can do it!
Here is the simple step by step collage. You will find full sized pictures and step by step instructions further down in this post.
Onto the tutorial! Things needed:

If you didn't see this full mani in yesterday's post, go check it out because there is a GIVEAWAY!
Onto the tutorial! Things needed:
Sinful Colors Snow me White, Milani Jiffy Orange, Milani Canary.
One medium detail brush.
Step 1) Paint 1-2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and let dry.
Step 2) Paint the bottom half of the nail with Milani Canary. You don't have to be perfect with the line, it will be covered by orange anyway! Let dry.
Step 3) Use your detail brush and Milani Jiffy Orange to paint a vertical line over the center of the nail, covering where the white and yellow meet.
Step 4) Continue making random vertical lines with Jiffy Orange until the entire middle row on your nail is orange. You can vary the heights for more interest.
Don't forget to add a thick, quick drying top coat to protect and seal in your design! I prefer Seche Vite, H K Girl Top Coat, or Poshe. Put a thick bead of top coat on the brush and gently spread it toward the tips and side, taking great care to not let the bristles touch the polish underneath. Thinner top coats can cause streaking or bleeding of the colors and the bristles drag lines through the design. YOU'RE DONE!

This silly guy was inspired by this image I found on Google.
Candy Corn is a white jelly polish with orange and yellow hex glitters. I'm showing 2 coats below with top coat. I've paired it with 2 accent nails of abstract candy corn, inspired by this "earthquake" nail art I saw on Beauty Gnome!
What do you think of these three Halloween polishes by The Nail Junkie? I love them, Aleta puts so much effort into her combinations to really represent the inspirations and I love it!

Red Dog Designs: 4 of the Spooky Treats Collection!
Press Sample
Good afternoon, readers! I have another post for today. I recently received half of the new Red Dog Designs Spooky Treats Collection and I wanted to share them with you in case you'd love to get some in time to wear for Halloween!
Dead Man's Party- White skull glitters, with various sized hex and square glitters in neon shades of pink, blue, green, orange, and black, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base.
I'm showing one coat over a gray creme, with top coat and paired with an Incoco nail strip that I've colored in using jelly polishes. Dead Man's Party applied easily and I love the skulls paired with the bright glitters!
Skeletini: Pink skull glitters, with various sized hex and shredded glitters in dark pastel shades of pink, yellow, green, purple, and black, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base.
I'm showing one coat over a light blue thermal polish (I'll have a post in the future about it alone) with top coat. I loved this the most, and kind of felt it was the "girly" version of Dead Man's Party. I've paired it with an accent of a simple girly skull nail art design. It applied easily.
The Haunting Hour: Various sized hex and square glitters in a mix of black, gun metal, orange and silver holo, including silver holo moons and stars, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base.
I really wanted to play off the orange glitter so I've layered one coat over a green and black gradient. It really made the orange pop and I love the holo moons and stars! It applied easily and I've paired it with an Incoco ghost nail strip. You may want to use a thick top coat to seal in the star and moon edges.
Corn Maze: Various sized hex and square glitters in shades of gold, yellows, holo gold, and browns, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base.
I layered one coat over this deep orange, with top coat. My accent nail is a stamp image (I think its from the new Bundle Monster set) that sort of looked like a maze, right? Corn Maze is a really pretty fall glitter and would look good over a ton of base colors. No issues to report.
There you have it! There are 8 total polishes in the Spooky Treats Collection so check out the links below to some fellow bloggers to get the scoop on the other half!
