Good morning and YAY it's the weekend! Since it's scorching out here in Florida already this year, it's the perfect time to share the new Neons by OPI Collection! 6 bright colors and a white base coat will help get your creative juices flowing and you will be ready to show off those summery nails in no time!

Before we begin, I wanted to touch on the collection as a whole. The white base coat, called Put A Coat On! is not necessary for use of these neons. Some neons I have used in the past need a white base but these actually build up nicely on their own. That helps these neons stand apart so I wanted to show them on their own for you. Also, because they are neon formulas, it is very important that you let each coat dry completely before adding the second. Dragging and lumps occur if the bottom layer isn't dried completely. Finally, I am showing these without top coat so you can see how they dry to different finishes.

OPI Hotter Than You Pink
Just when you think pink can't get any hotter, there's this!
I'm showing four coats with no top coat. The blue toned shimmer is so gorgeous in this one! Three coats still had slight VNL so I added a fourth because the formula was thin and easy to work with. It dries to a satin matte finish.

OPI Down To The Core-al
The beauty of this brilliant coral goes beyond skin deep.
I'm showing three coats below with no top coat. There is a sneaky shimmer not visible without top coat, you can see it in my recent chevron mani I posted a few days ago. It wasn't completely self leveling but it was ok when it dried. As you can see, it dries to a matte finish.

OPI Juice Bar Hopping
This tangerine cream makes me jump for joy!
I'm showing two coats with no top coat  below. It has a jelly formula and dries to a shiny/rubbery finish.

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons
This citrusy lemon-lime hits the spot every time!
I'm showing three coats below with no top coat. It dried to a normal creme finish.

OPI You Are So Outta Lime!
Here comes trouble and she's wearing this outspoken lime green!
I'm showing two coats below with no top coat. Another with a regular creme finish.
This is my favorite color of the collection! Something about the cooler tone as opposed to lime greens in my collection, so gorgeous!!

OPI Push & Pur-Pull
This forceful purple has got me coming and going!
I'm showing three coats with no top coat. It has a jelly-type formula and dries to a rubbery finish. The least bright of the collection, but still a pretty color.

OPI Put A Coat On!
Amp up any bright shade with this color-boosting base coat!
I'm showing one coat below so you can see how opaque it is. Good coverage for use as a base for something, but would need 2-3 coats for even coverage on it's own. It's a tad grungy toned compared to Alpine Snow, although it dried quickly like a base coat and not a polish.
As I said above, I didn't use this for the colored swatches because I don't think it's necessary.

What do you think of this collection? I was super excited when I heard OPI was coming out with full sized neons and I am really happy with the collection!! I can't wait to use them for more nail art and pedis this summer! Which are your must haves? Thanks so much for reading!

  3. I LOVE these, such gorgeous colors! And thanks for swatching them without the white base, I was wondering how they'd work without it.

  4. I most definitely need that gorgeously citrus one in my life! Thanks for a look at the white base too (and for swatching the polishes without it). These really helped! :D
