Good morning, readers! It's been a little quiet on the blog this week, sorry about that. It was our first full week of me doing homeschool with Hailey (1st grade) and I'm having to adjust my blogging schedule. Today, I have the LE OPI Halloween collection: Peanuts by OPI. They will be available in September so let's take a look at these 2 cremes and 2 glitter toppers.

Digit-al Dozen Dotting Days, #2: Flower Dotticure!

Good morning! I wasn't able to put up a dot manicure yesterday, but today is a new day and I have a second contribution to the Digit-al Dozen Dotting Days! This one is a bit funky, I started with the flower shapes and then tried to "outline" in dots but the dots were too large to make flower shaped layers so I ended up with these odd shaped ones instead. I am still making my way through the tons of new Milani Color Statement polishes and used 4 in this mani--I just love the color combo!

Good morning, readers! I have a funky manicure to show you today that I wore over the weekend. After seeing this post from Heather at Peace, Love, and Polish during our Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen, I HAD to try something similar. I hadn't successfully use the water spotted technique yet and I loved how it looked with a gradient base. You can see this video tutorial by Cutepolish if you want to get the idea of how I did the top layer. I used hair spray instead, and got some awesome sharp shapes on my nails that I prefer to the circles. I kept looking at my nails and getting a Maleficent vibe (which could be because I had just watched the movie that week).

Good afternoon, readers! I have the final design for Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen to show you! I was really struggling this week to come up with ideas that weren't so obviously summer. My friend, Casandra from The Manilogues, saved the day and suggested I do a swimming pool but as a "pond mani" with different layers in it for the light reflections. HELLO! Best idea ever! I was so excited, and did exactly that. This was my first time using one of the OPI Sheer Tints in a pond mani, and it worked fairly well. It was just a touch too sheer to show the depth of layers as well as I would have hoped (I guess I could have done two coats for each layer) but the color was perfect.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Summer, Day 4: Sidewalk Chalk!

Good morning! It's Day 4 of Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I have a manicure today inspired by something my kids LOVE to do outdoors: draw with sidewalk chalk! We have a lot of water play here in Florida, but I don't always want to deal with water and soggy clothes. When the kids still want to play outside without that craziness, sidewalk chalk is perfect! My kids are entertained for a long time while coloring all over the back patio or garage floor (on a rainy day). I used Zoya London, a gray Pixie Dust textured polish to represent the sidewalk and it really added to the cement feel.

Good morning, readers! It's Day 3 of Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen and today's mani is my first nail art inspired by the movie Frozen. Olaf's big solo song in the movie is called In Summer, and it's so silly because he is a snowman on the beach. So, this is my "beachy" mani for the week, featuring Disney's cutest snowman.

It's Day 2 of Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I have a brighter mani compared to yesterday's lightning storm. While there are many frozen treats to enjoy in the heat, I thought shaved ice/snow cones were a classic. Plus, it gave me a really fun use for the OPI Sheer Tints! Layering them over a white textured polish really gave it the right effect.

Good afternoon, readers! It's time for another nail art week with The Digit-al Dozen! This month's prompt is "summer" and I'm still trying to figure out what I'll be posting on this week. Here in Central Florida, most of the year is "summery" so I am really trying to see what sets Summer apart from the rest of the year for me. Today's post is what you can almost guarantee on a daily basis here during the summer: stormy afternoons. It may be bright and scorching hot all morning and then early afternoon rolls in along with dark clouds and lots of lightning.

Peekaboo Swirls with Elevation Polish!

Good morning, readers! I have a NOTD (nail of the day) post for you today. Many times I will post on a nail look I've worn previously, but this is the mani I've been wearing since yesterday and plan to keep wearing a bit longer! I love opening my Elevation Polish drawer and grabbing a handful of polishes to wear together. That's how this mani started: I grabbed Elevation Polishes El Cap II, Atop A Ferris Wheel, and Puncak Jaya and later decided on the nail art.

One of my favorite nail artists to follow on Instagram is More Nail Polish. She often does these "peekaboo" types of manis and I've been wanting to do one for a while. After the great response I received for my OPI Nordic Swirls last week, I thought I could do a more subdued version with these softer Elevations for the "peekaboo" part.

Tutorial Tuesday: Cute Alien Nail Art!

Good afternoon, readers! As promised, here is this week's tutorial on my cute alien design! I wore the alien on my accent nail and had galaxies on the rest of my nails in a similar color scheme. There are double the amount of steps in this tutorial than needed if you are working with non-shimmers or colors that are more opaque. I did a lot of opaque cremes and then layered a sheer shimmery polish in the next step because I wanted to have a sparkling alien. Feel free to use whatever colors you would like on your own alien!

Hippo Tang Nail Art!

Good afternoon, readers! It's Monday, boo. I'm always exhausted from the weekend when Monday rolls around, so I wanted to do some cute nail art to perk me up. We recently finished installing our latest home project: a new custom-built rimless saltwater aquarium. We knocked down a wall between our kitchen and living room, built out the wall on the bottom half for the stand, and now have the tank and an open view into the other room.(I posted a picture on Instagram today of the tank if you are nosey and want to see!) Our most recent addition to the new tank is a Hippo Tang, so I decided to do nail art inspired by his markings.

Good morning, readers! I am excited to share today's swatch post with you. It's been a couple of weeks since a swatch post, and I have 2 posts for this weekend! Today's is the new transitional collection by Zoya called Naturel Deux (2). It's a follow up to the original Naturel Collection and its helping us transition from late summer into fall without getting too deep into fall tones just yet. The collection consists of 6 neutral creme shades, darker than the previous Naturels. I did a fun dotticure earlier this week with them, make sure to check it out if you haven't already! 

Cutesy Alien and Galaxy Nail Art!

Good afternoon! TGIF! I have some fun nails to share with you that I'm wearing for the weekend. If you haven't noticed by now, I tend to gravitate a lot toward cutesy animal/creature nail art (I am Mommy to a 6 and 2 year old after all). For this look, I created a girly galaxy with my favorite colors and a cute little alien accent nail! This is such a "Jacki mani" that I am pumped to be wearing them!
