We had seen these wave nails done here from The Nailasaurus and since she put up a tutorial, we wanted to try it out. I liked how they turned out, but in hindsight, I think I would've been happier with them if the background color was a darker, richer blue instead of our pale one.
Sorry for the crappy iPhone pictures. Didn't bring my digital to her house that night.
Here's a closeup of one nail.
Here are the polishes we used!Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy(not pictured)
Base color: Sally Hansen Frozen Solid
Wave outline and base: Sinful Colors Why Not
First layer over the waves: Sally Hansen HD Spectrum
Highlights in the waves: Sinful Colors Snow Me White and the unnamed sea green from American Eagle
Glitter over the waves: Sally Girl #118
Sponged on the crashing waves with: Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Sally Hansen Diamond Ring
Top Coat: Seche Vite(not pictured)
All in all, I think it was a pretty good job. I just would have changed the background color, and made the waves take up more of her nail.
What do you think? Thanks for reading!
This is so creative! It reminds me of The Great Wave painting/print. :D
ReplyDelete@Sandra, thanks!! I had to google the print you were talking about but I agree! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it Jacki! The colours in the waves are just perfect.
