The Digit-al Dozen DOES Decades, Day 4: Lisa Frank Nail Art!

Press Sample

Hello, everyone! I have a bright and funky manicure for you today! It's day 4 of "decades" week with The Digit-al Dozen so here is a 90s Lisa Frank inspired look! The entire collection of new OPI Neons arrived yesterday so they were perfect to use in this mani! The neons are gorgeous and I can't wait to swatch them all for you soon. I think this was even brighter in person than my photos are suggesting as well.

MASH Scented Neon Polishes!

Good morning, readers! I have another awesome product from MASH to share with you today! This time, they sent their mini Scented Neon Nail Polish Set! It has 6 mini sized bottles, 0.21 fl oz each, that are brightly colored and have really nice fruity smells! They are all pleasant smells and strong enough to smell if you have your hand near your nose, but not overly strong that could cause headaches. This was my first time ever using scented nail polish and it was so fun! They were more like fruity candy smells instead of the "real fruit" smell but were easily recognizable as to what they were.

Cherry, Strawberry, Orange, Banana, Lime, and Fruit Punch.

Cherry definitely smelled like cherry candy. It was one of the couple 2 coaters in the group and was a wonderful "cherry red" color. I really liked this one!

Strawberry was thinner than Cherry and this took 3 good coats for the picture. It smelled just like a candy necklace!

Orange wasn't too bright and was instead a really nice color. It also needed 3 coats to full coverage.

Banana smelled just like banana Runts candy! It was the most difficult to apply, as all yellow cremes are with me. Shown is 3 coats but it could have used at least one more to cover some darker spots.

Lime was a surprise for me once I put it on. It only took 2 coats and had a shimmer that I hadn't noticed until it was on the nail! You may have to click the picture to enlarge it and see. I really loved this one!

The final polish was Fruit Punch. This was 3 coats but i can see a bit of unevenness and it probably could have used another coat. One of the thinnest polishes in the set, but a gorgeous blue!

I wanted to use some of these polishes to try a fun nail art design that I'd seen from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails, called a fish tail design, so here it is:

I love the colors together! Lime, Strawberry, and Fruit Punch. However, I don't recommend this design if you aren't using one coat polishes. This was 6-7 coats total on my nails and therefore very thick and took a long time to dry. Next time I'll do skittle nails!

So what do you think of these scented neon polishes? I don't think they are as "neon" as some summer collections out there, but they are bright and fun for summer time. They smell really nice as well! You can get the Scented Neon Nail Polish Set from MASH online for only $9.99!

Which is your favorite color? What do you think? Thanks for reading!

MASH Nail Art Brush Set Review!

Good morning, readers! I have another wonderful product from MASH to share with you today! This time it's the 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set! Even though I've been doing a lot of swatching and glitters lately, I really love doing free hand nail art. I think I need to get more inspiration. And I wasn't happy with my brushes, either. So thank goodness MASH was able to send these for me to try out. I love them!

First of all, lets talk about the really nice leather case that the nail art brush set comes in! It even has magnetic closures!

The case while closed.

The case opened. You can see the nice flap of leather that covers the brushes. (please ignore the sides of my light box, this set is big!)

A look at the brushes. All in their own slots!

Now, let's have a closer look at the 15 different brushes/tools:

Two fan  brushes! I haven't used these yet, but really want to!

A super teeny dotting tool.

6 square/angled brushes.

6 striper brushes. My two favorites are on the right. I use those type most often.

I decided to do a mani with use of some of these brushes to try them out. These are the 2 brushes I used for this plaid design:

I prefer long striper brushes because it's easier to manipulate and do continuous lines.

Here are my plaid nails:

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of China Glaze Strawberry Fields
China Glaze Watermelon Rind and the shorter/fatter striper brush for the thicker plaid stripes
China Glaze Passion and the skinnier/longer striper brush for the skinny lines.
Top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast

What do you think? I really like the MASH brushes so far! They were soft enough and held the polish well for a continuous line. I can't wait to try some of the others, especially the fan brushes! Imagine all of the possibilities with this nail art brush set!

The set can  be purchased from the MASH site here: http://www.mashnails.com/nail-art-tools/15-piece-nail-art-brush-set.html

It retails for only $9.99! That is a steal!!

MASH Matte Top Coat Swatch and Review!

Hello readers! I have an exciting new review for you today! MASH just released a matte top coat and I received it in the mail today!

If you are unfamiliar with matte top coats, I'll explain a bit. It's a clear top coat that can be applied over any polish to take away the shine and make it look like a matte polish! Instead of buying a ton of matte polishes, you can always get a matte top coat and make any polish look matte!

My favorite thing to apply a matte top coat over is glitter! That's what I decided to do for today's post. I have done 2 fingers with a shiny top coat and 2 fingers with this MASH Matte Top Coat so you can see the difference!

Index and Ring fingers have a normal shiny top coat. Middle and Pinky nails have the MASH Matte Top Coat.

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of Milani Black Swift
1 coat of Sonoma Nail Art Sonoma Sunset
1 coat of MASH Matte Top Coat or 1 coat of NYC Quick Dry Top Coat

As you can see, using a matte top coat gives a neat look to an already gorgeous mani! I love how it adds versatility!

The MASH Matte Top Coat applied so easily and dried quickly to a nice matte finish! It's not so thick that it makes your mani look cloudy, which is a big plus in my book! I've had that issue with other matte top coats before. It comes in a 0.50 fl oz bottle and is 3-free. You can get your own from the MASH Nails website here. It retails for $7.99 USD.

What do you think? Will you be purchasing this new matte top coat? Thanks for reading!
