Good evening, readers! It's Day 4 of Fandom Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I have a simple mani today representing a favorite book and movie series: The Hunger Games. The three books have similar symbols on the covers so I went for simple silhouettes to represent the books! These books blew me away (even if the third isn't a favorite) and they've done a really nice job with the movies, too.

Winstonia Third Generation Stamping Image Plate Set Review!
Press Sample
Good afternoon, readers! It's been quiet around here on Adventures In Acetone lately, have you noticed? School is out for the summer AND my little Owen (almost 3 years old) has had a stomach bug for a few days. However, he is feeling a little better today so I have some time to share the newest set of stamping plates from Winstonia. There are 20 plates and most of them are full plate designs where there aren't spaces between the images. Let's take a closer look below at each plate, plus a couple of manis I've worn since the plates arrived at my house.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Geometric, Day 3: Tri-Arrow Tessellation Nail Art
Press Sample
Good morning, readers! It's Day 3 of Geometric Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I have some nail art that will send you right back to math class. These ti-arrow tessellation nails were easily created using a stamping plate from the Winstonia Third Generation Stamp Plate Set. I'll be sharing a full review of the set with you in the near future but this is my first time trying any images and it was a huge success! Let's take a look.

Layered Cheetah Print with China Glaze Electric Nights!
Good morning readers! If you follow me on Facebook, you saw that I recently had a bad bend on my index nail so I've just had to cut my nails down to super shorties. I was trying to figure out a good manicure to do and decided on a crazy layered cheetah print to distract from the length. I used all of the China Glaze Electric Nights Collection crellies for this manicure, plus black and white cremes. These were loosely inspired by a pair of sunglasses my 2 year old is currently obsessed with wearing EVERYWHERE. Let's take a look:

Swatch Saturday: China Glaze Electric Nights Collection!
Purchased
Good morning, readers! I have the China Glaze Electric Nights Collection to share with you for Swatch Saturday this week! I don't typically purchase entire collections, but I couldn't resist these brights and they make for fun spring and summer nail art! This collection consists of 12 polishes: 3 matte glitter toppers and 9 squishy bright/neon crellies. I say that because some are definitely neon and glowing under my blue aquarium lights (not black lights, which may make them all glow as the press release on the collection says) and others are just bright colors without the glow. Let's take a look.

Good afternoon, readers! I recently bought the new neon collection by China Glaze called Electric Nights. They are bright, gorgeous, and I can't wait to show you a full swatch post soon. In the meantime, let's check out what I'm currently wearing on my nails right now: a watermarble using 5 of the new colors!

Elevation Polish Mill City Ruins + Nail Art!
Purchased
By Me
Good morning, readers! After the crazy week last week with The Digit-al Dozen, I'm wearing a simple mani today using the new Elevation Polish Mill City Ruins. It's the first thermal polish by Elevation and it's stunning with and without the thermal change! A gorgeous dusty olive green with gold flake and shimmer, I chose to pair it with a gold arrowhead geometric design.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Patterns On Patterns, Day 4: Stripes, Dots, and Roses!
Good morning, readers! This Patterns on Patterns Week is really kicking my creative butt. I am torn at what to combine and it's proving to be difficult. However, I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday and Paulina's Passions posted the most perfect "pattern on pattern" idea WITH a tutorial and I desperately had to recreate it for today. So a huge thank you goes out to Paulina for saving the day!! Her original design had pink roses so I tried purple as to not be a complete copycat the day after she posted. Let's take a look!

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Patterns On Patterns, Day 1: Beehive Nails
Good evening, readers! It's the start of a new nail art week with The Digit-al Dozen. This month's theme is Patterns On Patterns and it's certainly a challenging concept. I'm starting out the week with a subtle stamped honeycomb pattern topped with simple bees arranged like polka dots. I've used one of the new OPI Hawaii Collection polishes as my base because they all arrived on my doorstep this morning and I couldn't wait to try them out!

13 Days Of January, Day 11: Complement and Contrast (Dotticure)
Good afternoon, readers! The 11th prompt for the 13 Days of January challenge is Complement and Contrast. I have no love for complementary colors. There, I said it. I decided to go for more of a contrast using a neutral base and bright colors in this mani. Zoya Rowan from the new Naturel Satins Collection is a gorgeous taupe with a low-sheen finish and I knew it would work perfectly as the base in this mani!

13 Days Of January, Day 9: Rainbow (Geometric Tape Mani)
Good evening, readers! I have a rainbow manicure today to share with you for the 13 Days of January challenge! This geometric design is currently my phone wallpaper from Erin Condren and I knew I wanted to try nail art inspired by it. With so many fun colors, the Rainbow prompt was the perfect time! I used striping tape and 10 creme polishes to create this look.

13 Days Of January, Day 5: Reversed Polarities! (Reversed Doctor Who Nail Art)
Good evening, readers! Time for the second mani of the night, this one is for the 13 Days of January challenge! Day 5 has the hardest prompt yet: Reversed Polarities. It was discussed that it meant to swap colors on objects so the grass would be blue but the sky green, etc. I decided to go with a reversed Doctor Who mani! White TARDIS? Pastel galaxy mani with black stars? GOOD CAT instead of BAD WOLF? Yes please! Any reason for a new Doctor Who mani is a good reason in my book. Let's take a look!

Good morning, readers! TGIF! Are you excited for the weekend? It's time for the 4th nail art prompt in our 13 Days of January challenge: Monochromatic. Of course I had to pick my favorite color family: orchid purples! I followed another tutorial from Idiot's Guides: Nail Art for this look!

Good morning, readers! Merry Christmas Eve! Today, I have some simple holiday nail art for you that I created by following another tutorial in Idiot's Guides: Nail Art that I reviewed yesterday! If you missed that post, check it out HERE! There were a handful of Christmas tutorials but this one was calling out to me the most ever since I opened the book.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Summer, Day 4: Sidewalk Chalk!
Good morning! It's Day 4 of Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I have a manicure today inspired by something my kids LOVE to do outdoors: draw with sidewalk chalk! We have a lot of water play here in Florida, but I don't always want to deal with water and soggy clothes. When the kids still want to play outside without that craziness, sidewalk chalk is perfect! My kids are entertained for a long time while coloring all over the back patio or garage floor (on a rainy day). I used Zoya London, a gray Pixie Dust textured polish to represent the sidewalk and it really added to the cement feel.

Tutorial Tuesday: Cute Alien Nail Art!
Good afternoon, readers! As promised, here is this week's tutorial on my cute alien design! I wore the alien on my accent nail and had galaxies on the rest of my nails in a similar color scheme. There are double the amount of steps in this tutorial than needed if you are working with non-shimmers or colors that are more opaque. I did a lot of opaque cremes and then layered a sheer shimmery polish in the next step because I wanted to have a sparkling alien. Feel free to use whatever colors you would like on your own alien!

Cutesy Alien and Galaxy Nail Art!
Good afternoon! TGIF! I have some fun nails to share with you that I'm wearing for the weekend. If you haven't noticed by now, I tend to gravitate a lot toward cutesy animal/creature nail art (I am Mommy to a 6 and 2 year old after all). For this look, I created a girly galaxy with my favorite colors and a cute little alien accent nail! This is such a "Jacki mani" that I am pumped to be wearing them!

DIY Dupe: Elevation Polish Angels Are The Yetis Of The Clouds!
Good morning, readers! I have exciting news to share with you! I've done some comparisons and layering experiments and I've figured out a DIY dupe for recreating a similar look to the very limited edition Elevation Polish Angels Are The Yetis Of The Clouds!! I know it's not the same as owning this gorgeous polish, but its a bit of a consolation prize if you can create a close enough look, right? Continue reading to see how I did it, and how it compared to some other polishes in my stash!

Spring Flowers Watermarble Nail Art!
Affiliate Link
Good afternoon, readers! As you saw with my last post, the weather is warming up and that makes me want to wear bright and fun nail art! I decided to do a watermarble with three of the China Glaze Sunsational cremes from last summer. These are bright and water marbled really easily! My most popular blog post is a similar water marble design from 2 years ago, so I hope you all like this color combo as well!
