Swatch Saturday: MLB Collection by OPI!

Press Sample

Hello, readers! It's been a crazy week around here so sorry for the lack of posts. Next week is nail art week with The Digit-al Dozen so we can look forward to lots of fun posts starting on Monday! But first, today's post is on the MLB (Major League Baseball) Collection by OPI. I'm not a baseball fan so I'm not sure how these work with some team colors, but I like a lot of the polishes. Three blues, two reds, an orange, and a white shimmer don't seem for an exciting collection, though. I've done comparisons of the similar shades at the bottom of the post so make sure you check those out and find which colors work best for your favorite team.

OPI Love Athletes In Cleats
This shimmery red and a man in uniform… now that's romantic.
Two coats below with no top coat. I love this shimmer, it's my favorite of the collection!

OPI Short-Stop!
Go for it! This rich creme red is a real catch!
Two coats below with no top coat. The formula was thin and there is slight VNL at two coats so you may like three coats on yourself if that bothers you.

OPI Orange You Going To The Game?
This bright and playful orange is the ticket for fun.
2 coats below with no top coat. This is frosty and you can see the brushstrokes once it dries. I'm honestly not a fan of this finish but the color is nice.

OPI Girls Love Diamonds
Whether on the finger or on the field, this pure white is totally engaging.
Two coats below with no top coat. This shimmery white is really pretty and can be layered over other colors as well. There is still VNL at two coats so you may want to layer more to get full coverage.

OPI Umpires Come Out At Night
Friday night at the game is perfect for this deep midnight blue.
Three coats below with no top coat. This is a crelly formula so it needed three coats to cover completely but its very squishy and shiny.

OPI Right Off The Bat
This frosty navy blue is a definite home run.
Two coats with no top coat below. Minimal brushstrokes but a pretty finish.

OPI 7th Inning Strrretch
Take this steely grey blue out to the ballgame.
Two coats below with no top coat. Again with minimal visible brushstrokes.

And here are the two comparisons for you:

What do you think of this new MLB Collection? My favorites are Love Athletes In Cleats and Umpires Come Out At Night. I already have some nail art planned for these and can't wait to show you! I think they probably should have had less similar colors in such a small collection but on their own, some of the colors are great! Thanks so much for reading!

  3. Beautiful swatches and photos. Thanks so much for the comparisons. When I first started seeing this collection, they just all swam together - it's nice to see them in one color range in one photo. But I still am passing on the whole collection - feel very 'meh' about it.
