Floral Half-Moons with Zoya Eden!
Good morning, readers! I have a fun mani for you today that I created for the Zoya Spring Nail Art Challenge! I love half-moon manis, especially if the half moon is some form of nail art. For this look, my half-moons are simple florals that complement the pink base (Zoya Eden from the spring 2015 Delight Collection). Although this would work well on all nail lengths, I think it really shines on shorter nails by bringing the attention to the cuticle instead of the nail tip. Continue reading below for a complete tutorial on how you can recreate this easy spring look.

Tutorial Tuesday: Polar Bear Nail Art!
Good morning, readers! I have a tutorial for you this week! It's a cute little polar bear that I wore on an accent nail during Winter Wonderland Week. He is cute and fairly easy to do if you have some dotting tools and a thin brush, so I hope you will try this design on your own nails!

Tutorial Tuesday, The Digit-al Dozen DOES Winter Wonderland, Day 2: Rudolf Nail Art!
Good morning, readers! It has been 2 months since my last Tutorial Tuesday post and I am so happy to have one today! In case you want to see all of the other tutorials I've done, take a look at the Tutorials Tab at the top of this blog! This will make my 35th tutorial so there are tons of different ones to choose from!
It's Winter Wonderland Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I've done a Reindeer/Rudolf mani! I had a lot of tutorial requests lately for my actual Rudolf mani that featured Bumble from the Rudolf movie. I may or may not get to do one for that, but this was more cutesy and "my style" so I figured I would share this one first.

Tutorial Tuesday: Flashback to Thanksgiving Nail Art Tutorials!

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Floral, Day 2: Floral Lace Half Moons
Affiliate Link
Good morning, readers! Floral Week with The Digit-al Dozen continues, and for Day 2 I've stretched the theme a bit. Floral lace shapes for the half moon part of this mani totally count for floral, right?
I was inspired by this mani on instagram by @deanne29 (who added dots to the original design by @Kayleighwaleynails ). Looking at the mani, the hardest part of the design would be the floral lace half moon cut out at the cuticle line. However, I grabbed my trusty Liquid Palisade and it was a breeze! I'll be putting a quick video on Instagram today of how I did it, and you can see a quick picture step-by-step below as well.

Tutorial Tuesday: Cute Alien Nail Art!
Good afternoon, readers! As promised, here is this week's tutorial on my cute alien design! I wore the alien on my accent nail and had galaxies on the rest of my nails in a similar color scheme. There are double the amount of steps in this tutorial than needed if you are working with non-shimmers or colors that are more opaque. I did a lot of opaque cremes and then layered a sheer shimmery polish in the next step because I wanted to have a sparkling alien. Feel free to use whatever colors you would like on your own alien!

Tutorial Tuesday: Beach Ball Half Moon Nail Art!
Good afternoon! As promised, this week's tutorial is the Beach Ball Half Moons I wore last Thursday. These seem fairly simple to recreate (I was able to do them on all 10 nails) and they are perfect for a "not so typical" summer mani! The use of half moon guide stickers make this even easier than it looks.

Tutorial Tuesday: Unicorn Nail Art!

Press Sample
Good morning, I have a tutorial to share with you today! At the beginning of last month, I shared this unicorn nail art design and had a TON of great feedback! So, I thought it may make a cute tutorial! It was partially based off of my Zebra Tutorial and I think you can definitely take today's tutorial and modify it slightly if you wanted to do a horse (different colors and no horn) or pony(no horn) as well! It has more steps than most of my tutorials but it's because of the many details.

I have a simple nautical nail art look and tutorial to share with you for Tutorial Tuesday! It's been a while since I've done a tutorial for you guys, I just don't really have any new tutorial ideas. Is there anything you want a tutorial for? I'd love to hear it so please leave a comment below! For today, I'm going to show you a fun mani I wore for a boating weekend 2 weeks ago. They are perfect for summer and simple enough that I even had a similar pedicure to match!

Tutorial Tuesday: Lava Flow Nail Art VIDEO Tutorial!
Good evening, readers! I wasn't expecting this post to be so late in the day, but I am such a newbie when it comes to video tutorials (this is my VERY FIRST!) I underestimated how long it would take to combine clips together into one video and save, upload to youtube, etc. But I am finished and I hope it's not too bad for a first try!
I had a lot of comments on this Lava Flow nail art I posted last week, and even though I wrote out step by step how I created the easy look, I think watching it may make more sense. Here is a refresher of that nail art in case you missed it:

Tutorial Tuesday: Raggedy Ann Nail Art!
Hello, readers! I had such great feedback from last week's Vintage nail art, so thank you for taking the time to comment! I decided to go with the design easiest to recreate out of the five for this tutorial: Raggedy Ann. I also had someone request this design for a tutorial, so it seemed to be the best plan.
Here is a sneak peek at the step by step, you will see full sized pictures and step by step instructions further down in this post:

Tutorial Tuesday: Mermaid Scale Nail Art!
Good morning, readers! As promised yesterday, here is a simple tutorial on how to recreate the mermaid scale nail art design. If you don't have these layering base colors of Dior Saint Tropez and Dior Perlé, you can of course use any colors you'd like the base of your scales to be! I'm just showing exactly how I did mine.

Tutorial Tuesday: Abominable Snowman Nail Art!
Good morning, readers! It has been forever since I've done a proper Tutorial Tuesday post. Sorry about that! The holidays are crazy around here and with Hailey off of school, there wasn't time to do extra posts like that.
But, I'm back and trying to get into the groove! Since it's pretty much FREEZING all over right now, it seemed like a great idea to do a Yeti/Abominable Snowman tutorial! This design was my VERY FIRST post with The Digit-al Dozen last December and it's still one of my favorites!

Tutorial Tuesday: Zebra Nail Art!
Good afternoon, readers! Happy Tuesday! Tuesdays around here mean a new step by step tutorial post for you to recreate one of my older free hand nail art designs. I urge you to click on the Tutorials tab at the top of my blog to see previous tutorials!
Today's design was from the middle of September and I'm not sure why I haven't done the tutorial until now. It may be one of my FAVORITE tutorials I've done yet!! I hope you like it as much as I do and try it for yourself! The easiest thing I find about nail art is that I break down each step into a shape and it makes it so much easier to do!

Tutorial Tuesday: Pond Pumpkins Nail Art!
Hello, readers! Today's Tutorial Tuesday post is my design I posted yesterday: Pond Pumpkins Halloween nail art. I'm actually STILL wearing this mani from Sunday, I love it THAT much! I hope you will recreate it and love it as well!
This is a variation on my earlier Pond Hearts Nail Art Tutorial, which was inspired by this original post by Olive View Fashion. I just wanted to show how versatile this pond mani technique can be by showing a "halloween version."
A few tips before I begin the tutorial:
This is a variation on my earlier Pond Hearts Nail Art Tutorial, which was inspired by this original post by Olive View Fashion. I just wanted to show how versatile this pond mani technique can be by showing a "halloween version."
A few tips before I begin the tutorial:
- For this technique, you have to use a jelly polish(I've used OPI Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear? from the Texas Collection). It just really won't work the right way with non-jelly polishes. If you don't have any, you can always add some colored polish to a clear polish bottle and mix together to make a jelly.
- You have a lot of waiting in between steps to let the layers dry. Don't rush it or you will smear your pumpkins. So I recommend turning on Netflix and catching up on some Doctor Who or The Vampire Diaries while you wait in between each layer. ;)

Tutorial Tuesday: Abstract Candy Corn Nail Art!
Good morning, readers! I have a really simple tutorial for today, it was part of my Nail Junkie Halloween post yesterday and I had a lot more feedback from it on Instagram than I thought I would so I'm going to show you how simple it is!
As I said in my post yesterday, this is inspired by the "earthquake design" I saw on Beauty Gnome HERE. I just made mine with colors to represent candy corn and it is so easy that anyone can do it!
Here is the simple step by step collage. You will find full sized pictures and step by step instructions further down in this post.
Onto the tutorial! Things needed:

If you didn't see this full mani in yesterday's post, go check it out because there is a GIVEAWAY!
Onto the tutorial! Things needed:
Sinful Colors Snow me White, Milani Jiffy Orange, Milani Canary.
One medium detail brush.
Step 1) Paint 1-2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and let dry.
Step 2) Paint the bottom half of the nail with Milani Canary. You don't have to be perfect with the line, it will be covered by orange anyway! Let dry.
Step 3) Use your detail brush and Milani Jiffy Orange to paint a vertical line over the center of the nail, covering where the white and yellow meet.
Step 4) Continue making random vertical lines with Jiffy Orange until the entire middle row on your nail is orange. You can vary the heights for more interest.
Don't forget to add a thick, quick drying top coat to protect and seal in your design! I prefer Seche Vite, H K Girl Top Coat, or Poshe. Put a thick bead of top coat on the brush and gently spread it toward the tips and side, taking great care to not let the bristles touch the polish underneath. Thinner top coats can cause streaking or bleeding of the colors and the bristles drag lines through the design. YOU'RE DONE!
What do you think of this simple abstract candy corn tutorial design? Please share pics of your nails using my tutorials by tagging me on Instagram (@adventuresinacetone) or posting to my Facebook Page!
Thanks so much for reading!

Tutorial Tuesday, The Digit-al Dozen DOES Skittles Day 2: Jack O' Lanterns!
Good morning, readers! I always have a hard time when I have to skip a Tutorial Tuesday in order to do the monthly Digit-al Dozen challenge, so this month I've combined them! I did Jack O' Lantern skittles and an easy step by step tutorial on how to create your own!
I also used a glow in the dark top coat over the yellow parts of the Jack O' Lanterns, but I didn't do that for the tutorial because I wasn't happy with how they glowed.
The beauty of this design is that you can do any shape of pumpkin and any face you'd like! I came up with 5 different ones for my skittle mani but the possibilities are endless!
Here is a sneak peek collage at this tutorial. You will find full sized pictures and step by step instructions further down in this post.

Here is a bigger picture of the full mani, and below that is a glow in the dark photo.
There was just too little glow in the dark because I used a striper brush to paint it on over the yellow parts. I wish it had been stronger.
Okay, onward to the tutorial!! Things needed:
Zoya Flynn, Milanis Jiffy Orange(he had an accident haha) and Canary, OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys, China Glaze Starboard.
Striper brush, large dotting tool, small dotting tool.
Step 1) Paint 2 coats of Zoya Flynn and let dry.
Step 2) Using Milani Jiffy Orange and the brush from the bottle, paint a circle with an indent in the top middle for the pumpkin. I had to do 2 coats of the orange to completely cover the camel colored base.
Step 3) Use your striper brush and OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys to do a stem on the top middle of the pumpkin.
Step 4) Use the striper brush and China Glaze Starboard to do a twisty vine and leaf from the stem. You can just do a straight vine or even just the leaf if that's easier.
Step 5) Use Milani Canary and your big dotting tool to do 2 eye dots.
Step 6) Use your striper brush and Milani Canary to do a simple triangle nose.
Step 7) Use the striper brush and Milani Canary to do a simple zigzag mouth smile.
Step 8) Take your small dotting tool and OPI Jiffy Orange and do some small dots on the inside edges of the eyes to make them look like a cutout you would see with real Jack O' Lanterns.
Don't forget to add a thick, quick drying top coat to protect and seal in your design! I prefer Seche Vite, H K Girl Top Coat, or Poshe.
