KBShimmer Shipwrecked!

Good morning, readers! I have a pretty combo that I've had on my toes for over a week and just now was able to try out on my nails. I just love it! OPI No Room For the Blues is such a nice bright summer blue and Shipwrecked tones it down a bit with the darker base tint but they are still bright.

I used: Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of OPI No Room For the Blues
2 coats of KBShimmer Shipwrecked
1 coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast

What do you think of this combo? I can't wait to see what other things I can layer Shipwrecked over! If you are interested in Shipwrecked or want to see what other polishes are offered, you can go "like" the facebook page to keep up with info on the polish. Thanks for reading!

MASH Nail Art Brush Set Review!

Good morning, readers! I have another wonderful product from MASH to share with you today! This time it's the 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set! Even though I've been doing a lot of swatching and glitters lately, I really love doing free hand nail art. I think I need to get more inspiration. And I wasn't happy with my brushes, either. So thank goodness MASH was able to send these for me to try out. I love them!

First of all, lets talk about the really nice leather case that the nail art brush set comes in! It even has magnetic closures!

The case while closed.

The case opened. You can see the nice flap of leather that covers the brushes. (please ignore the sides of my light box, this set is big!)

A look at the brushes. All in their own slots!

Now, let's have a closer look at the 15 different brushes/tools:

Two fan  brushes! I haven't used these yet, but really want to!

A super teeny dotting tool.

6 square/angled brushes.

6 striper brushes. My two favorites are on the right. I use those type most often.

I decided to do a mani with use of some of these brushes to try them out. These are the 2 brushes I used for this plaid design:

I prefer long striper brushes because it's easier to manipulate and do continuous lines.

Here are my plaid nails:

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of China Glaze Strawberry Fields
China Glaze Watermelon Rind and the shorter/fatter striper brush for the thicker plaid stripes
China Glaze Passion and the skinnier/longer striper brush for the skinny lines.
Top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast

What do you think? I really like the MASH brushes so far! They were soft enough and held the polish well for a continuous line. I can't wait to try some of the others, especially the fan brushes! Imagine all of the possibilities with this nail art brush set!

The set can  be purchased from the MASH site here: http://www.mashnails.com/nail-art-tools/15-piece-nail-art-brush-set.html

It retails for only $9.99! That is a steal!!

Shimmer-thon Day 10- Cassandra!

Good morning readers! Today is the last day of the Shimmer-thon. I'll be showing you the final of the 10 Shimmer Polishes I had for you. Tomorrow look for a recap of all 10 in one post to help you pick your favorites!

I saved Cassandra for last for 2 reasons. Reason 1 is that there was no way I was going to swatch her alone and let me stained nails show through against the pretty holo glitters. Reason 2 was that she was one of my favorites and I knew I'd be layering her in an awesome combo for you.

Cassandra has holo hexes as well as iridescent glitters that flash different colors in the light! I love that the holo pieces are more of a white and not a silver. It makes this unique! Once I got my new Picture Polish Wisteria this week from Llarowe, I knew I'd want to wear Cassandra over it. It is like a match made in heaven! I love it so much!

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of Picture Polish Wisteria
1 coat of Shimmer Polish Cassandra
1 coat of Shimmer Polish Glass

This is only one coat of Cassandra over Wisteria! Look how packed it is! I just love this one so so much! I think this is such a fun a girly mani and plan to wear it as long as it lasts! Another good reason for saving it for the last day-- now I won't have to take it off to change it for tomorrow!

So what did you think of the Shimmer-thon? Which colors are your favorites? Are you excited for the big post tomorrow of all 10 colors together?

Cindy has an etsy shop HERE if you are interested in this or any of her other polishes. The polishes retail for $12 each. You can also find her blog with contact info HERE and her new Facebook Page HERE.

Shimmer-thon Day 9-Trisha!

Good morning, readers!! I have a fun Shimmer Polish to show you today! Trisha really surprised me! At first glance all I saw was orange and I'm not a huge orange polish fan. But once it was on, I ended up loving it!! I think the other colors added in really did it for me. I've also decided that this would make a killer Halloween or fall mani layered over black!

Cindy describes Trisha on her blog as:

"For you ladies who enjoy a nice copper polish... Trisha Shimmer lights up your fingers with shades of Copper. Add along flashes of blue, purple, and gold sparkle to complete this shimmery mix."

This was 3 coats. Next time I'll layer it since you can definitely see my nail through the 3 coats. But I still loved wearing it like this!

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
3 coats of Shimmer Polish Trisha
1 coat of Shimmer Polish Glass

So as I already said, I loved this more than I thought I would. It had an easy application because the majority of the glitters are on the smaller side. I don't think I got any of the big blue hexes on my nails, though, which I was sad about. At least the gold ones were easier to grab!

Cindy has an etsy shop HERE if you are interested in this or any of her other polishes. The polishes retail for $12 each. You can also find her blog with contact info HERE and her new Facebook Page HERE.
