Good morning, readers! It's Swatch Saturday and this week I have three of the new Rainbow Honey The Final Battle collection polishes to share with you! The Final Battle is split into three parts and I have one polish from each part.
Here is some more info on the new collection:
"The Final Battle brings us 15 new shades inspired by Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII. Often touted as 'the game that sold the PlayStation,' FFVII was a long and grueling gaming experience full of heavy thematic elements and strife. The game touches on eco-terrorism, over-industrialization, and the expectations and challenges we battle over the course of life.
Part I, The Battle, plays off of some of the main elements of the game: the heroes and the ultimate face-off between the Planet's Lifestream and the Meteor: Phoenix Down is a nod to the recurring battle item throughout the Final Fantasy series.
Part II, The Summons, depicts five of the attacks used by the beasts and monsters summoned in the game- a crucial part of any important battle!
Part III takes its name from The Weapons created by the Planet as a form of self defense. These bio-mechanical monsters were massive and powerful and I have taken the chance to create a durable and colorful interpretation of each one. They are smooth, shine bright with metallic shimmer, and make a great base for the many glitters in this collection! --Dee"
I love the unique inspiration that goes into these collections by Rainbow Honey!
Once again, they come in these adorable boxes!
I received Ruby Weapon, Diamond Dust, and Cetra!
Let's go in order, starting with the polish from Part I: Cetra!
Cetra is a sheer pink full of shimmer and iridescence reminiscent of a lady long since gone. This is such a girly pink! It's on the thicker side and it's jelly-ish so I've done two coats with no top coat below. It had great coverage, I almost stopped at one coat, but wanted to see how the VNL (visible nail line) changed and the second coat helped! Because its on the thicker side, make sure you let the first coat dry before adding the second or you will drag the first coat off. Very pretty, I will for sure let my 5 year old wear this sometime!
From Part II, I received Diamond Dust!
Diamond Dust is frost, ice, and shimmer come together with a fine holographic sparkle in a clear base. After seeing teaser pics on the Rainbow Honey FB page, this was the exciting one for me! I am expecting to see this over some dark colors so I wanted to show it off on it's own for you. It's also on the thicker side like Cetra, but not as thick. I've done two coats below with no top coat. There is a gorgeous blue/purple flash that was very apparent in person and I know it would show up really well over a black base. As with Cetra, let the first coat dry before adding a second.
From Part III, I have Ruby Weapon.
Ruby Weapon is a darkened ruby red with copper and gold shimmer. This was the winner for me! It's thin and really gorgeous! I did do three coats below with no top coat because it was thinner than the other two, but much easier to work with and it build up beautifully. I can't wait to wear this for the holiday season or a date night!
