MASH Scented Neon Polishes!

Good morning, readers! I have another awesome product from MASH to share with you today! This time, they sent their mini Scented Neon Nail Polish Set! It has 6 mini sized bottles, 0.21 fl oz each, that are brightly colored and have really nice fruity smells! They are all pleasant smells and strong enough to smell if you have your hand near your nose, but not overly strong that could cause headaches. This was my first time ever using scented nail polish and it was so fun! They were more like fruity candy smells instead of the "real fruit" smell but were easily recognizable as to what they were.

Cherry, Strawberry, Orange, Banana, Lime, and Fruit Punch.

Cherry definitely smelled like cherry candy. It was one of the couple 2 coaters in the group and was a wonderful "cherry red" color. I really liked this one!

Strawberry was thinner than Cherry and this took 3 good coats for the picture. It smelled just like a candy necklace!

Orange wasn't too bright and was instead a really nice color. It also needed 3 coats to full coverage.

Banana smelled just like banana Runts candy! It was the most difficult to apply, as all yellow cremes are with me. Shown is 3 coats but it could have used at least one more to cover some darker spots.

Lime was a surprise for me once I put it on. It only took 2 coats and had a shimmer that I hadn't noticed until it was on the nail! You may have to click the picture to enlarge it and see. I really loved this one!

The final polish was Fruit Punch. This was 3 coats but i can see a bit of unevenness and it probably could have used another coat. One of the thinnest polishes in the set, but a gorgeous blue! 

 I wanted to use some of these polishes to try a fun nail art design that I'd seen from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails, called a fish tail design, so here it is:

I love the colors together! Lime, Strawberry, and Fruit Punch. However, I don't recommend this design if you aren't using one coat polishes. This was 6-7 coats total on my nails and therefore very thick and took a long time to dry. Next time I'll do skittle nails!

There's A Holographic Snowstorm On My Nails!

Good morning, readers!! I received 3 polishes from Liz at Not Too Polished this week to review and share with you! Instead of doing all 3 in one post, I really wanted to get to wear them and not "swatch" them. So today I'm wearing The Eyrie on all of my nails!

The Eyrie and one of the other two that you will see soon, Dragonstone, are both from the as-yet unreleased Great Houses of Westeros Collection inspired by the A Song Of Ice & Fire novels. I haven't read them(but I have watched the first Game of Thrones season and plan to start the second soon!) and I love when indie makers do book, movie, or show inspired polishes because it appeals to fans of the polish as well as fans of the novels.

The Eyrie is a sky blue jelly base filled with teeny holo glitters, white small hex glitters, medium silver holo hex glitters, and giant white hexes. It really reminded me of a holographic snow storm on my nails! There is definitely a "winter" feel to it and the added holo sparkle makes it so awesome!

I wish my lightbox could capture more of the holo sparkle. We can thank that wonderful Tropical Storm Debbie here in FL/GA for stealing all of my sunlight this past week.

That was the only giant white hex I was able to get out of the mini bottle on all 10 fingers. But I'm glad I was able to get it. I think it would be easier in larger bottles with larger brushes.

1 coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast(double coat on the middle finger with the giant hex to hide the edges)

This is a lovely sheer blue jelly packed with glitter that builds nicely! I had to do 3 coats and can still barely see some visible nail line but that doesn't bother me with jelly polishes. I think the many glitters distract from that anyway. It was very easy to apply and the only glitter that was hard to get on the brush would be the giant white hexes. The small white and silvers were on the brush when I would take it right out to paint on and I only stopped to shake up the bottle after each coat to bring the glitters back toward the top. 

This is my first from Not Too Polished and I was not disappointed at all! I'm quite impressed and am excited to wear this as a full mani! I bet it would also look great layered over other blues if you didn't want to use 3 coats each time.

Elevation Polish Gradient!

Hello readers! I have a special post for you today. I have to say that I've met some wonderful ladies in the polish world since I've started blogging and it amazes me how generous they can be. I recently met Lulu from Elevation Polish in one of my Facebook nail groups and when she found out that our soon-to-be-born baby boy was named Owen, she generously offered to send me her Owen polish as a baby gift! I was shocked and excited because once I'd heard that she had an Owen named polish, I've wanted it! Well, my package arrived this weekend and she also included a mini of Ama Dablam(it means "mother's necklace" and is named after a story widely told in Nepal, about a mother and her loving arms) as well as some baby goodies! Such a sweetheart!

Lets check out some bottle shots of these gorgeous polishes together. They were just screaming to be worn together!

I didn't want to just do Ama Dablam over Owen because I wanted the gorgeous shimmer of Owen to be shown as well so I decided on gradient glitter tips. They accentuated my short nails and I think I prefer glitter gradients when I have longer nails, but I still loved how these were and wore them all weekend!

I just LOVE the copper round glitters that look just like freshly made pennies! They are my favorite part of Ama Dablam.

Milani Spring 2012 CVS Exclusives!

Good morning readers, I have my final Milani Spring 2012 swatches for you today! These are apparently only available at CVS stores(and the Milani website). I have 9 polishes total to show you! So sit back and enjoy the pictures!

Just Grayt is a yellow toned gray and it was a bit difficult to apply. Took 3 coats to cover uneven spots and even then it was a bit gloopy. I ended up having to put top coat on this one to take a better picture for you.

Chocolate Sprinkles is my favorite of the CVS exclusives I'm showing you today. 2 easy coats of this gorgeous golden shimmering brown. I can definitely see myself wearing this often.

Hipster Plum was very shiny! 2 coats and a color unique to my stash. I liked it more than I thought I would!

Fuchsia Fierce was very hard to photograph. This is still not showing how pink toned it is but I gave up after I couldn't get it right in the photo editor. I had to do 3 coats of this and it was similar to the thickness at that point of Just Grayt. 

Pink and Proper has a very pretty shimmer in it similar to the one in Mint Candy! An easy 2 coater, I ended up liking this more than I expected.

U Pinky Swear is a bubble gum pink that needed 3 coats for full coverage. I always seem to have trouble with  light pink cremes when it comes to coverage issues. But I like this color so I will deal with the application to be able to wear it.

Natural Touch was an 2 coater and a very neutral nude shade. Pink toned taupe is how I would describe it. Not really my kind of color but it went on easily and if you like nude tones, this would work for you.

A Rose Mylady makes me think of my grandmother. It has a pretty shimmer and its a nude pink that would be good for any conservative polish wearer. It seems very work appropriate as well. Only 2 coats were needed.

Lastly, we have Morning Coffee. This was a 2 coater as well, a red toned medium brown. Easy application and a nice color!

Born Pretty Fimo Slice Review!

Good morning readers! I have a fun post to share with you today! Have you heard of Fimo Slices or tried them before? This was my first time using them even though I've been eyeing them for a while. I got these from the Born Pretty Store and they also came with nail glue for easy application!

Step 1: Pick which fimo slice you want from the wheel. I chose a butterfly!

Step 2: Apply a drop of nail glue where you want the fimo slice to  be on your nail and hold in place while it dries. I didn't know that they would be flexible and was happy that I could "bend" it to the natural curve of my nail while it was drying!

Step 3: Enjoy!

More Milani Spring 2012 Swatches!

Hello readers! I have more Milani polish swatches to share with you today! There will also be one more post planned this week with the last of the current polishes I have to show you, so stay tuned for that!

Most are only 2 coats, no top coat below.

First we have Signature Gold. This is two easy coats. As you can see, it's darker than the typical gold but still a pretty color. It's a bit of a frosty metallic, however, so you can see the brush strokes.

Next we have Teddy Brown. This taupe color is very neutral and applied easily in two coats. 

Dark Coffee is next. This is a nice, rich, dark brown. Maybe even a bit lighter than the swatch is showing. It really reminded me of a chocolate Hershey's bar. Only 2 coats for full coverage and a gorgeous color!

Deep Thoughts is a dark purple with a pretty shimmer! It's hard to capture on camera, but in person was more noticeable. Very pretty, also only 2 coats.

Lastly we have Ruby Jewels. This is red glitter in a pinkish-red jelly base. I did 3 coats here for more coverage. The first coat was very pink but each additional coat made it more and more red. Look how shiny this dries without top coat!

What do you think of these 5 Milani colors? Which is your favorite? Least favorite? I think I'd have to say that my favorite is Deep Thoughts and least favorite being Teddy Brown because it's so neutral and not really my favorite kind of color.

SoFlaJo Girls Night Glitter!

Hello readers! As you've probably noticed, I haven't done a new post in a little while. We are 36 weeks along today with baby Owen so I could have him anytime! I've been busy setting up his nursery and getting things ready around here so here's my heads up that posts aren't going to be as often for a bit. If you haven't already, please "Like" my Facebook Page to keep up with my updates. That is where I'll post if we go into labor(don't expect blog posts for a while after that happens! I have a feeling I'll be a zombie for a while adjusting to life with 2 kids).

The polish I am showing today is called Girls Night Glitter. It's my favorite from the collection(you know how I feel about glitter!) and after wearing it, I love it even more! It only took 2 coats for full coverage and the different colors in it are really gorgeous together! SoFlaJo describes it as : "a true blue polish with dazzling bursts of pink, blue, and black glitter."

Baby Shower Watermarble Nails!

Good morning, readers!! I was out of town this weekend for our baby shower back home in Florida and had an amazing time!! I wanted to share my nails from the shower because they were a huge hit and I loved them so much!

I saw them on Kayla's blog a bit ago and loved them so much I had to try and recreate them! Here is her original post. I didn't have the same colors but picked close ones and loved the outcome! My picture is a little dulled compared to them in person, though.

Top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast

I only did 2-4 lines through the watermarble before dipping my nails and I actually loved how simple the design looked compared to my flower design or more complicated ones. The colors get to show thick enough and they didn't get muddy either. Love love love!!

And here is a pic from the baby shower. I'm still waiting on other photos from friends but this is my favorite one so far. It's me with my 3 awesome hostesses that threw the shower for me!
