The Digit-al Dozen DOES Childhood, Day 5: Candy Land Nail Art!

Good afternoon, readers! It's the final day of Childhood Week with The Digit-al Dozen. I've shown you a favorite tv show, favorite book, favorite toy, and favorite outdoor activity. Today, I'll show a favorite board game: Candy Land! I think this is a fairly common game that most everyone has seen or played in their lifetime. There have been many variations of the characters over the years, the one my kids have is different than mine. I decided to focus on one of my favorite characters, Princess Lolly! The rest of the nails represent the colorful spaces you follow in the game.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Spooky Days, Day 2: Candy Corn Drips!

Good morning, readers! I have a really funky manicure to show you for Day 2 of Spooky Days with The Digit-al Dozen! It's not spooky, but fits in with Halloween and I really loved it! I followed this tutorial by AttackedAstoria Nails and am so glad I did. The drips pop over the black base so well.

The Lacquer Legion, Adoration: Textured Chevron Tape Mani!

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! It's time for the monthly nail art challenge with The Lacquer Legion and this month's prompt is "adoration." You can go to The Lacquer Legion on Facebook for more info on how to join in! I was having a difficult time with this prompt and realized I was over complicating things. Instead of focusing on nail art for the many people and things in my life I adore, I took it down to the basics of some of the things I adore in nail art! Textured polishes, tape manis, turquoise, purple, and one of my fellow nail art bloggers I adore the most: Sarah from Chalkboard Nails

NOPI Nicole...Spotted! VS. Sinful Colors Nail Junkie

Hello lovely readers! I am sad to report that I did not get my Cult Nails Unicorn Puke today even though usps.com said today was the expected delivery date. :( I was so set to do that post for you today that I had to figure out what else I could post on. I am feeling pouty so I decided to just do a comparison post for you instead of doing something on my nails that I wouldn't want to take off tomorrow when I should finally get my Unicorn Puke.

I've had Sinful Colors Nail Junkie for around 6 months but always forget to use it. I recently recieved NOPI Nicole...Spotted from Ashley's giveaway and when I was putting it away in my melmer, I realized it looked like a dupe for Nail Junkie! So here are some comparison pictures with 1-3 coats, labeled below each picture.

Bottle shot. Nicole by OPI Nicole...Spotted! and Sinful Colors Nail Junkie

Index and Ring: 1 coat of NOPI, Middle and Pinky: 1 coat of SC.

Index and Ring: 2 Coats of NOPI, Middle and Pinky: 2 coats of SC.

Index and Ring: 3 coats of NOPI, Middle and Pinky: 2 coats of SC.

So surprisingly, Sinful Colors was much more pigmented and didn't need more than 2 coats for full coverage. I don't even think that 3 coats of the NOPI is as dark as 2 coats of the SC(shown in the last picture) but who wants more than 2-3 glitter coats, anyway?

My thoughts: I actually liked the application better on the NOPI(thankfully it was their old brush and not the dumb new rounded one that I hate) and it was shinier when dried. Sinful was thicker and a little harder to apply, but I bet some thinner could solve that problem since it's been sitting for 6 months in my drawer.

I'd love to use the NOPI over a color instead of trying to use it on it's own.

At $2 each for Sinful Colors and NOPI around $7, you can choose which one you'd like to spend your money on. I think they are both gorgeous but I probably don't need both. I think I'll add some thinner to my Sinful Colors and give to my sister, Chloe, and Mom to add to their growing nail polish collection!

What do you think? Do you have either of these? Which would you choose? Thanks for reading and hopefully my Unicorn Puke will be posted tomorrow!

Excuse Moi! and New Polish Haul!

Good morning, readers! I am back from our vacation weekend and have a simple post for you today. While I was away, I found the OPI Muppets collection at JCPenny and grabbed Excuse Moi! to add to my collection! I love all of the different color glitter in the pink base. So pretty!

 Indirect Sunlight

 Direct Sunlight

You can kind of see the different color glitters on the nail here. So pretty!!

This was only 2 coats for full coverage! Its still a little bumpy after a coat of Gelous and Orly Sec n Dry, but I don't mind that with glitters.

Also, when I was away, I got a pedicure with OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress and loved the color! I have been hearing about this super popular red for a while now but didn't fall in love with it until it was on my toes! The next day, I ran to Ulta to get a bottle and instead found it in this cute 2 pack!

When I got home, waiting for me in my mailbox was a giveaway package from Ashley at Nailin' It! Thanks so much, hun, I love all of my goodies!!

Cute Bath and Body Works nail file, and Nicole by OPI Nicole...Spotted! and Party in the Penthouse.

So there you have it! I also made a Facebook Page for my Blog if you'd like to check it out here! I am still adding pictures to it so it's still pretty new. Thanks for reading!!

Sparkle-thon Round Up and Comparisons

Alright folks, hope you enjoyed our 8 day Sparkle-thon. Today, I just want to do a quick recap and have all of the colors in one post for you if you weren't following all week. :) Nothing much else to say about them besides I LOVE THEM and I recommend them if you love glitter polishes! Mostly 2 coaters, you can't go wrong! I bought mine on ebay, but they are also available sometimes on Amazon, and of course on Nubar's website.

 Night Sparkle

 Petunia Sparkle

 Meadow Sparkle

 Violet Sparkle

 Fire Sparkle

 Star Sparkle

 Sky Sparkle

 Hyacinth Sparkle

Alright, now it's time for more pictures. I decided to do some comparisons with this Sparkles collection for you! I wish I had more to compare to, but I just used anything I thought was close from my stash and also my friend, Heidi's, stash for this post. I didn't want to go buy something that may be a dupe just to post about it. Anyway, here are the pictures! They are all labeled for you. And, there are 2 pictures of each comparison, one in the sun and the other more shaded, so they look different in both lights.

Nicole by OPI One Less Lonely Glitter was a close color dupe, but the particles are different sized compared to Nubars' uniform particles. On my nails, I was able to do less coats of Nubar than on these swatches, so for me, Nubar covered a lot better. Not to mention the awful NOPI brush that I hate hate hate!

Orly Bubbly Bombshell was also a color dupe, but had different sized particles. However, the Nubar took half the amount of coats to cover!

I had nothing close enough in my collection to Violet Sparkle! This Finger Paints was the closest, and as you can see, doesn't even come close to the gorgeous brightness of the Violet.

Another non-dupe. Night Sparkle is gorgeous!

We got VERY close to Sky Sparkle with Finger Paints Laugh My Art Off! And the FP needed much less coats(you read how I hated doing so many coats of Sky Sparkle). The blue particles in Absolutely Alice were very close, but the gold is in there so of course it's not a dupe. I just wanted to try it out since I haven't worn it yet. LOL

Ahh, Meadow Sparkle is so unique. We had nothing, I just wanted to show it compared to this popular Sinful Colors green glitter.

We had similar colors to Star Sparkle, but it was unique in it's particle size. I'm sure there may be another dupe out there, but neither of us had any.

And finally Fire Sparkle. I wish I had Milani Red One Coat Glitter for you guys to compare. I know some have the Sally Hansen and it was the only other red we could compare with, so I wanted to show. This is a really good representation of the amber-tone in Fire Sparkle.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading! Do you have a favorite one?
