The Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature, Day 3: Mermaid Tail Nail Art

Good morning, readers! Are you ready for Day 3 of Nature Week with The Digit-al Dozen? I wore this mani all weekend and loved it so much! It's been a little over a year since I first tried free handed Mermaid Scales and I even did a simple tutorial for it! For this mani, I went a different route and added more color to the fin before adding the scale pattern on top. Mermaids may not be real, but I'm fitting them in with nature week anyway!

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Spooky Days, Day 4: Spider Webs!

Good morning, readers! It's Day 4 of Spooky Days with The Digit-al Dozen. I feel like I can't get through a Halloween season without spider web nails. Spiders creep me out all year long, but I still can't deny how fun the webs are to paint. I've been doing them for years and I love how different they can look. This time, I was wearing Pahlish The Final Flower and knew I wanted to use it as a base for spider webs. Elevation Polish Black Ice was a great pairing for the gradient, and the silver spider webs just popped so well.

Good morning, readers! Is it warming up yet where you live? It's been hot here in Florida already and this past weekend we got to swim in our pool for the first time this season so YAY! We love to swim and go out on our boat when the weather is warm so I decided to wear some bright and summery nail art using two of the new Brazil by OPI polishes!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July, readers! I was unsure of what kind of mani I wanted to do for the holiday and then it hit me yesterday afternoon and I'm so glad I did it! I haven't done a splatter mani in a long time and I forgot how fun they can turn out with the right color combinations! And, this didn't take that long for me to do, either!

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of Zoya Posh(favorite red polish EVER)
OPI Alpine Snow and Blue My Mind for the splatter
An old pen barrel to blow through for the splatter effect
1 coat of CND Silver Sparkling
Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and my essence plate for the star stamp
Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat

I think it will be perfect for our festivities today and fireworks tonight! What do you think? Have you ever done a splatter mani?

A group of friends of mine got together to do a collaborative mani day(today) so come see what Fourth of July designs my friends did as well:

Day 9: Child's Favorite Outfit Nail Art

Hello readers! I have another challenge day for you! This was a fun one, I had to think of what Hailey's favorite outfit was. I picked her favorite dress because she would wear it everyday if she could! It's a pink and coral almost-tie-dye design with a silver butterfly applique and a tutu!

Here is a picture of her wearing it when we picked up Daddy from the airport when he got back from an Afghanistan deployment in September:

Here are my nails that I tried to match to the dress:

It's a bit hard to see where I sponged on the pink over the coral.

I used:
Orly Nail Defense
2 coats of Piggy Polish Pinking of You
Color Club Poptastic and a torn makeup sponge
Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and a MASH plate for the butterfly
Cult Nails Wicked Fast

What do you think? I wish you could see 2 colors more in the mani. But I like it :) Thanks for reading!

Hello readers! No April Fools pranks from me today, just good old fashioned nail art. ;)

This mani was designed in my hubby's head and I LOVE how it turned out! I should ask him for ideas more often!! I've also decided that I need to do a lot more gradients, they are one of my favorite looks!

I used: base coat of Orly Nail Defense
3 coats of Zoya Mimi
Orly Sweet Peacock and a makeup sponge to gradient from the tips
Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Bundle Monster plate BM-221
Cult Nails Wicked Fast

What do you think? It was super quick and easy, and yet looks awesome!!

Have you checked out my BLOG SALE page yet? I am constantly adding more polishes so check again! I have some OPIs, China Glaze Crackles, Juleps, Wet n Wild Ice Baby polishes, and much more!!! You can see what I have HERE.

Ozotic 513 + Stamping!

Hello readers! I'm taking another little break from the challenge because I recieved my Llarowe order on Saturday of Ozotic 513 and a-england St. George! I really wanted to try them out! I picked Ozotic 513 first and wore it alone on Sunday for our family day outside and walking along the beach while the sun was out. IT IS GORGEOUS! Today, I decided to add a little to it. :)

Here is Ozotic 513 by itself. I honestly can see even more crazy wild holo-ness in person than my camera can capture. I am really loving this polish!

Here is a picture of where I added a stamp using Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and dots with a-england St. George!
I used:
Base coat of Orly Nail Defense
3 coats of Ozotic 513
Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and MASH plate m64 for the stamp image
a-england St. George for the dots
Cult Nails Wicked Fast

What do you think? I think I need to get my hands on a silver holo that is able to stamp. I think I'd have loved it even more if the silver was holo. :)

Mermaid Tail Nails!

Good morning! In an attempt to make my Zoya Charla and Mimi Gradient nails last a bit longer, I decided to add and change them up a bit!

I did 2 coats of Ozotic Elytra 528 over the Zoyas because the multichrome glitters change from teal to purple so it went really nicely on top of both colors. Then, I stamped a silver fishnet design over top of it all. I think it definitely looks mermaid-ish!

Look at those gorgeous Ozotic glitters!!

I used:
One coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
2 coats of Zoya Charla
Zoya Mimi and a makeup sponge to do the gradient
2 coats of Ozotic Elytra 528
Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Bundle Monster stamp plate BM-209
Top coat of Poshe

What do you think? I love the added shimmer from the Ozotic! Thanks for reading!

OPI DS Temptation Stamping!

Hello readers! TGIF! Anyone excited for the weekend or have any fun plans?

I have another stamping post to show you today! I received OPI DS Temptation for my birthday and knew it would be a really neat base color for a stamping mani. This design is from one of the Born Pretty Store stamping plates I got over the holidays and I like how it turned out! It's so sparkly in person and was a little hard to photograph since the sun was bouncing off all of the glitters in Temptation.

I used:
Base Coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
3 coats of OPI DS Temptation
Stamped with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes on stamp plate m79
Dotting tool used to add the accent dots with Orly Sweet Peacock
2 top coats of Poshe to get smooth

What are your thoughts on this? I love the colors in this design and think its one of my recent favorites! DS Temptation has a couple of different color glitters in it(pink and blue added to the purple) so its really pretty to stamp over. It adds more dimension to the colors.

I'm not sure if I'll take these beauties off over this weekend unless they chip so I hope you all have a safe and fun weekend! Thanks for reading!

Michelle is a Heart Breaker

Good morning everyone! After swatching my Julep polishes yesterday, I decided to leave on Michelle as a base color for the new Pure Ice Heart Breaker I picked up. It's a really pretty teal shimmer and you can't beat the $2 price tag at walmart! I can't wait to layer this on other base colors as well.

What do you think? I've seen Heart Breaker a few times on blogs lately so I knew I had to check it out when I was at Walmart. Thanks for reading!

Day 27: Inspired By Artwork

Good evening, readers!! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am still trying to figure out if I'll be posting in the evenings or mornings so I'm sorry if the time of day is inconsistent for a little while.

Today's challenge was Inspired By Artwork and I knew I'd have to do a design based on a M.C. Escher art piece because he is my husband's favorite artist and we have some books of his work on our bookshelf. I asked my husband last night to look through his books and pick out a design for me. He found Circle Limit 3 and I was excited to try it out today!

I used: Base Coat of my Julep Base Coat
Base Color of Essie Blanc
For the design: Wet n Wild Ink Well
                       OPI Conga-line Coral
                       Pure Ice Jaguar
                       Essie Coat Azure
                       Color Institute Spring Fling
                       White Acrylic Paint

What do you think? I had the most trouble with the fish eyes but I do like the end result. It was pretty cool to be able to take that second picture of my nails on the page of the art book! Thanks for reading!

Day 19: Galaxies

Good morning everyone and thank you for stopping by my blog! Today's challenge was Galaxy Nails and I was a bit nervous about this one. Thankfully, though, it's a lot easier than I thought and I ended up loving it MUCH more than those half moon nails yesterday! It was a lot of different colors and glitters sponged on with a ripped up makeup triangle and I don't even think my pictures do it justice. Much prettier in person because the different angles show the different types of glitters.

 In the sun.

Out of direct sunlight.

I used: Base color of Pure Ice Electric!
A coat over that of OPI I Juggle...Men
Then I sponged on in various areas:
Essie Blanc,
Ulta Material Girl,
piCture pOlish denim,
Wet n Wild Jungle Fever,
a-england Lady of the Lake,
Ozotic 528,
China Glaze White Cap,
and Nubar 2010.
Top Coat of Out the Door.

I really like how these turned out and keep looking at them. I even love my right hand because it was easy enough to look as good as the left in this mani! You should definitely try it sometime!! Thanks for reading!

Day 11: Polka Dots

Good morning! Today is Polka Dots in the 31 Day Challenge and this is what I came up with: constellations! I loved them when I was younger, and my husband and I claim one of the stars in Orion as "our" star from when we were dating. Cheesy, maybe, but I love the memory. :)

Index Finger: Cancer
Middle Finger: Draco
Ring Finger: Big Dipper
Pinky Finger: Libra

Thumb: Orion(my favorite constellation)

I used: Base Coat of OPI Nail Envy
Base Color of OPI Road House Blues
Layer of Wet n Wild Blue Wants to be a Millionaire for the shimmer
Pure Ice Silver Mercedes for the star polka dots
Essie Blanc for the white lines
Top Coat of Out The Door

So what are your thoughts? This proved to be much  harder than I expected, but I do like the end result. Thanks for reading!

Day 8: Metallic Nails

Good morning, readers!! Ready for another 31 Day Challenge post? Hope so, because I have today's Metallic Nails challenge to show you. When I read Metallic Nails, I was a little bummed because it seemed boring and I couldn't think of nail art to do. I thought about stamping because metallics seem to be the best for stamping, but that didn't seem that exciting to me. Then, I remembered an awesome tutorial I saw from rebecca likes nails and knew this would look pretty neat with metallic colors! She is super cool has some awesome ideas! Go check out her page!

Sorry for the glare on the nails, this was the least shiny in the morning sunlight. Metallics are hard for me to photograph!

I used: Base coat of Revlon Quick Dry Basecoat
Pure Ice Outrageous, Silver Mercedes, and First Time for the braiding.
Top coat of Out The Door(I used up all of my Poshe! Trying this for a change, but it's much thinner and doesn't add that nice thick layer of shine that Poshe does.)

I'm not sure why I got bubbling under the layers of polish. I'm wondering if my Revlon base coat(which I hardly ever use) wasn't completely dry before I started adding layers of polish and caused the bubbles somehow? They showed up about half way through the design :( Oh well.

So what do you think? Thanks for reading!

The Earth Exploded On My Nails!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I know, not everyone loves Mondays, but for me, its the day of the week that we always have our weekly mani challenges from Polish-Aholics Anonymous on Facebook. This weeks theme was Splatter and this is what I came up with. After I was done, I decided it kind of looked like the colors of Earth splattered into space. LOL, so there's the title explanation for you. On to the pictures!

In direct sunlight and a teeny bit blurry to show the awesome holo-ness of China Glaze Fairy Dust.

In the shade.

I used:
Base coat: Nail Envy
Base Color: Pure Ice Electric!
Splatter colors: China Glaze Custom Kicks
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue
Glitter: China Glaze Fairy Dust
Top Coat: Poshe(which is so far working for me as my Seche replacement! Just takes a bit longer to dry all the way down through the layers)

Overall, I am loving this mani! The first and only splatter I had ever tried before this was awful and thankfully this one made me appreciate splatter nails again. I'm crossing my fingers for my mailman to bring me my Barielle and Zoya orders today! So what do you think? Thanks for reading!

Jaded Skittles

Happy Hump Day!! I just love when the week is half way over already!

So I'm not sure that these actually count as "skittle" nails but I liked the title and since each finger is different, I'm just going to call them skittles.

I really wanted to wear my new OPI Jade Is The New Black but was bored with the idea of having all of the nails the same, so these are what I came up with!

Thumb is covered with OPI Black Shatter
Index is stamped with Sinful Colors Black on Black with Bundle Monster plate BM-201
Middle is topped with OPI I Lily Love You(Heidi owns this so I had to try it out today!)
Ring finger has polka dots I made with a dotting tool and Pure Ice Electric
Pinky was taped and then painted with Pure Ice Electric.
Topped off with Seche Vite. :)

What do you think? Which finger is your favorite? I just LOVE this jade color. A new favorite for sure.

P.S. I took this photo with the light box I made tonight but I don't love the picture and ended up having to adjust the color in my photo editor. What bulbs are you guys using in your light boxes? Thanks!
