The Digit-al Dozen DOES Fandom, Day 5: Doctor Who!

Good morning, readers! It's time for the final post of Fandom Week with The Digit-al Dozen. I had to bring it back to my favorite fandom for nail art: Doctor Who! This is a tribute to last season with Peter Capaldi as the 12th doctor--with a nod to the episode called Flatline where to T.A.R.D.I.S. was shrinking with him inside of it. I am so anxious for the new season to start!

13 Days Of January, Day 5: Reversed Polarities! (Reversed Doctor Who Nail Art)

Good evening, readers! Time for the second mani of the night, this one is for the 13 Days of January challenge! Day 5 has the hardest prompt yet: Reversed Polarities. It was discussed that it meant to swap colors on objects so the grass would be blue but the sky green, etc. I decided to go with a reversed Doctor Who mani! White TARDIS? Pastel galaxy mani with black stars? GOOD CAT instead of BAD WOLF? Yes please! Any reason for a new Doctor Who mani is a good reason in my book. Let's take a look!

Doctor Who Nail Art: Time For Twelve!

Good afternoon, readers! Where are my Doctor Who fans? Any newbies? Anyone like me and really loving the new season with Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor? I must confess that I have liked every Doctor, so I'm not surprised at how much I like Capaldi now as well. I think each actor has brought something new to the table. A new title sequence accompanied the start of Capaldi's season and it is very eye catching! I was inspired from the first episode to do nail art like this, and only just now was able to get the time to do it. From twisting clockwork pieces, spiraling hours of a clock, the TARDIS, and some pretty Galifreyan circles in space, these nails represent the new intro!

The Lacquer Legion, Fandom: The Pandorica Opens

Good morning!! I am so excited to be participating in this month's Lacquer Legion nail art prompt! #LLFandom is right up my nail art alley, and of course I had to go with another Doctor Who themed mani! This time, I extended my "exploding TARDIS" design a bit more: I've included part of The Pandorica Opens (exploding TARDIS) painting, The Pandorica, and the crack. They all are connected in the part 2 finale of Doctor Who, Season 5 so why not put them all together?

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Metal, Day 1: Cybermen Vs. The Daleks!

It's time for this month's nail art theme with The Digit-al Dozen! All of the manis you will see this week are in some way connected to "metal" so I'm anxious to see how all of us come up with different ideas on the topic!

For my first design, I had to do another Doctor Who inspired mani! Cybermen and Daleks are both made of metal and waged a war against each other in the episode called Doomsday (otherwise known as the tear-jerking finale where The Doctor was burning up a sun just to say goodbye to Rose on a beach in an alternate universe and she said she loved him and he disappeared before he could say it back...sniff sniff..). Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show a bit of the war between the two species as nail art!

Happy 50th Anniversary Doctor Who!

Good morning, readers! It's an exciting day here in Doctor Who fandom, the big 50th Anniversary special airs in about 5.5 hours and I can't wait!!! A bunch of us bloggers decided to do a big collaboration of manis to celebrate Doctor Who today! So don't forget to check out the others at the bottom of my post. Spread the Doctor Who love!

I've tried to recreate the Exploding TARDIS painting by Van Gogh in the episoded called The Pandorica Opens.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Black and White, Day 1: Killer Snowmen!

This post
 has a previous

Good morning, readers! Happy Veterans Day to all of you out there, especially to Mr. Adventures In Acetone- I am so blessed to have you for a husband, best friend, and father to our babies!

It's Black and White week with The Digit-al Dozen! This was a challenging week for me, and as of today, I'm only half way done with my designs. I have some ideas for the last 2, so I hope they work out.

Today's post is another evil character found in one of our favorite shows: Doctor Who! These are the killer snowmen from the Christmas special called The Snowmen. I had a hard time thinking of non-snowy scenes for this theme week so at least I made it a bit creepy. Ha!

My Halloween Mani: The Silence Nail Art!

Happy Halloween! I wanted to show you what I'm currently wearing on my nails for the holiday. I am slowly making my way through the tons of nail art ideas inspired by Doctor Who. I thought The Silence would make good, creepy nails for Halloween because they are one of the scariest species on the tv series.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Skittles Day 3: Daleks!

Good morning, readers! It's time for the third "skittle nail art" look for this month's Digit-al Dozen challenge! I've said before how much we really like to watch Doctor Who, and I've already done Galaxy Nails as well as Weeping Angels nail art inspired by the show. Today's mani is also inspired by Doctor Who, and I love how these turned out! Dalek's are pretty much the "mortal enemy" of The Doctor in case you didn't have a clue of what I'm talking about.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES It All Again: Geek!

Good morning, readers!! I am so so so excited about today's post! It's Geek day with the Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular throw back. I honestly think that when we did Geek Week earlier this year, it was my favorite week of manis. I am a total geek when it comes to fantasy/scifi shows. Well, we have recently added a new geeky show to our favorites and I was glad to do a mani inspired by our newest favorite show: Doctor Who!

If you are familiar with Doctor Who, you know that The Weeping Angels are, "the deadliest, most powerful, most malevolent life form evolution has ever produced." They appear as statues covering their eyes while you are looking at them, but if you turn away/blink, etc, they can move quickly and silently toward you. You will either be sent back in time or killed. This is what The Doctor had to say about them:
"Fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss, they just zap you into the past and let you live to death. The rest of your life used up and blown away in the blink of an eye. You die in the past, and in the present they consume the energy of all the days you might have had, all your stolen moments. They're creatures of the abstract. They live off potential energy."

So basically, DON'T BLINK!

Anyway, onto the mani! My base is OPI Roadhouse Blues and appears almost black in some of these pictures. It's a very dark blue/indigo shade. I've done the Weeping Angels in Sinful Colors Cool Gray and Smokin' with my striper brush.

Doctor Who Galaxy Nail Art!

Good morning, readers! As I said a few posts ago, the hubby and I have recently gotten into Doctor Who on Netflix and it's all we watch at night around here. I thought it would be fun to do some space/Doctor Who inspired nail art.

One of my favorite Nerdlacquer polishes is called All of Time and Space, from Doctor Who, so I knew I had to use that in this mani as well. I ended up with a skittlette design of All of Time and Space, galaxy nails (inspired by this tutorial by The Nailasaurus), and an accent nail of the Tardis--the time traveling space ship on Doctor Who.

I really loved how these turned out! There is something about the randomness and beauty of galaxy nails that I don't think I'll ever get tired of wearing them.
