Zoya Magical Pixies Nail Art: Crisscross Texture Gradient Revisited!

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! Yesterday, I received the new trio of textures from Zoya-- The Magical Pixie Collection! I was so looking forward to these and I love them in person! I'll have proper swatches for Swatch Saturday, but I couldn't resist trying them in some nail art as soon as they were delivered.

I used my own Crisscross Texture Gradient Tutorial from July for this manicure. The only difference (aside from the polishes used) is that I rotated the "diamond" shapes 90 degrees. I just wanted a different look for these and the diamonds oriented this way made me think of princess gowns and linens.

The base color is Zoya Caitlin (which is spelled exactly like my younger sister's name, so naturally I had to buy it when I saw it at Ulta years ago). Once it was dry with top coat, I followed my tutorial and applied striping tape. All three new Magical Pixies were used on the sponge in this order from cuticle to tip: Cosmo, Lux, and Vega.

When you apply a textured polish to a sponge and press it on the nail, most of the liquid color polish stays in the sponge and you get the texture only. Therefore, these are extra textured compared to painting them directly onto the nail, and the colors are a bit muted.

They are very sparkly in person with the new holographic hex glitters and my photos didn't capture it well in my light box. What do you think? Are you a fan of textures and don't mind the added bigger glitters in these new Pixie Dusts? Don't forget to check back this weekend for individual swatches of the trio. Thanks so much for reading!

For BEST RESULTS when applying Zoya PixieDust: apply 2-3 thin coats of polish for full coverage to a clean oil free nail surface. Allow product to dry completely for full effect. Do not use a base coat or top coat. Top coat can be applied for additional glossy effects.

    1. Thank you! Some bigger ones that hung part way over the tape were pulled up and i used my index finger to gently pat down again (or move so they didn't overhang the purple stripe).
