Deborah Lippmann Mermaids Skittle Nails!

Hello, readers! If you saw the post I did last night of the new Deborah Lippmann Mermaids, you may remember me saying that I would be wearing all 5 colors in a skittle nail design today. The colors look too pretty together and I decided to add a delicate "mermaid tail" stamp over them. I love how it turned out! It was barely visible in the photos on Mermaid's Dream (pinky) but it was supposed to be subtle and not take away from the gorgeous polishes so I'm okay with that!

Deborah Lippmann Mermaids SWATCHES!

Hello, readers! I have a super exciting post to share with you before bed. I couldn't wait to swatch the new Deborah Lippmann Mermaids when they arrived today and I just had to post it right away. They are gorgeous! Mermaid's Dream was my favorite Deborah Lippmann polish so when I heard there was an entire mermaid-inspired collection coming out, I had to get them all! They look awesome paired with Mermaid's Dream, so I'm showing that one in this post as well even though it's not "new."

A little bit of info about all of them: I've done two coats of each with Cult Nails Wicked Fast. They tend to dry gritty (with the exception of Million Dollar Mermaid) and once my Wicked Fast was hardened, there was still a bit of texture. I'd recommend a thick top coat if you want a glossy finish. They all applied wonderfully and I have no issues to report. Just stunning!

Look at the bottle colors together! I'm definitely wearing DL Mermaid skittle nails tomorrow!

Let's start out with my favorite of the new set, Mermaid's Kiss. A gorgeous light pink base, packed with light and dark pink mini hexes and TONS of gold fleck shimmer. The gold is so intense, it's my favorite part about it!

Next up, we have Million Dollar Mermaid. A pale orange base with orange mini and micro hexes and gold shimmer. The gold shimmer is smaller and less intense than that in Mermaid's Kiss but I think it works better this way for this base color and keeps it from looking too yellow.

Do The Mermaid is the purple of the bunch and was the most textured when dry without top coat. The pastel purple base is full of purple mini  and micro hexes and what appears to be silver shimmer. It's the only polish in the set without gold added in.

The last new polish is Mermaid's Eyes. It is an opaque blue base with blue mini hexes and gold micro glitter. There is less glitter and the base is much more opaque than the others-- I could have only worn one coat. The second coat covered up the glitters, though, and the blue mini hexes are almost lost in the blue base. I just adore this shade of blue!

Now we've come to the original mermaid-- Mermaid's Dream. As I said before, this was my favorite Deborah Lippmann polish and it may still be. Such a beautiful mix of seafoam base with gold shimmer and blue hexes.  I just love it!

Digit-al Dozen DOES Love & Heartbreak: Simple Heart Stamping!

Hello, readers! I'm a bit late on posting today's Digit-al Dozen manicure for you, but I decided that I wanted to spend Valentine's Day with my hubby and kiddos and am just now getting a free minute to post.

I am a little disappointed at how this stamping turned out. The stamp was great, but it didn't show up as well as I'd hoped over Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams. Sweet Dreams was so gorgeous on it's own that I probably should have just left it that way. Let's just look at the pretty base color instead LOL!

Digit-al Dozen DOES Love & Heartbreak: Footprints in the Sand

Good morning, readers! Digit-al Dozen Love & Heartbreak week continues! Today's post is one that I was really looking forward to trying and I am pretty happy with how it turned out! Once I ordered Zoya Godiva from the Pixie Dust collection, I knew I had to try a beach manicure because it looked like beach sand to me! It paired so perfectly with Deborah Lippmann On The Beach that I just ordered from Apothica and the dual texture look is super fun!

The hard part was making the footprints and initials "drawn" in the sand. The sandy texture of the Zoya made it hard for clean lines on the small details. Oh well, all in all, I think it's a pretty cool idea. In case you couldn't tell, the initials in the heart are "J+W" for me and my husband, Wes. We've been married over 7 years. :)

Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle Comparison Post!

Hello readers! My post is super late for the day because it has been a crazy one! I've had these pictures since I took them this morning but this is the first time I've had to sit at the computer and write up for you.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I thought Shimmer Marilyn was similar, yet more red toned, to Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle. I got to swatch them side by side and I was right! Both needed 3 coats and a good top coat because they dried gritty. Both have the glowy glitter but the tones are different.

Maya Cosmetics Swatches!

Today I have some pretty polishes from a new indie brand called Maya Cosmetics. If you are a follower of Michelle over at Things I Love At The Moment, you should know what I am talking about because she recently did an awesome interview with the creator, Kat, and swatched the entire collection of polishes!

Kat was kind enough to send these 4 my way to share with you all! I have: Commotion, Kung-Fu Treachery, Hyperbole, and Last Call. 3 glitters and 1 gorgeous color shifting shimmer!

First, I have Commotion. This glitter topper is crazy packed. What you are seeing below is less than one coat on each finger over Butter London Sprog. Yes, so packed that I ended up wiping some glitter off the brush before I applied because it was so dense. Very pretty color combo here of blue, purple, pink, silver glitters in a clear base. I bet in 2-3 coats you could wear this alone if you preferred. Shown with top coat.

The square glitters seem to have "reflective curling" because with one coat of top coat, they were smooth to the touch.

Next up is Kung-Fu Treachery. I chose to layer one coat over Deborah Lippmann Footloose. The unique part of this multishaped black and white glitter is the added tiny gold glitters. So often it's a silver added into this color combo and having gold was a nice change! I did have to arrange some of the glitter but it wasn't bad. Shown with one coat of top coat.

Onto the last of the glitters. This is Hyperbole. It has a blue jelly base and its packed with different colored and shaped glitters. This was another with so much glitter that I wiped some off for easier application. I'm showing 3 coats below with top coat. It has pink, orange, blue, and chartreuse glitters. The only glitters I had an issue with were the big chartreuse hexes, some seemed to be curling a bit because they were visible off the nail with top coat. I'm sure a thicker top coat would alleviate this. I love this color combination of glitters to base!

And finally we come to the shimmer of the group: Last Call. Last Call is a gorgeous color shifting shimmer and I love it! It's a blackened violet and the shimmer flecks shift from blue to purple to pink on the nail. The best part? Just 2 easy coats and it doesn't have to be worn over black to see the color shift! That's my least favorite part of duo and multichrome polishes. Shown with top coat.

Jordana Glitters Swatches and Review!

Hello readers! I have an awesome set of glitters to show you today! If you follow my Facebook Page, you would have seen my picture I posted on the 10th that all of the Jordana Glitters are now available on Jordanacosmetics.com! I have 6 to show you today and I really like them!

I've done base colors on 4, and then 2 of them are built up on their own. All swatches are shown with one layer of top coat.

First up we have Confetti. Chunky magenta hex glitter in a clear base. This is one coat over Milani Key West. I had to push them around a bit but didn't have a hard time getting them onto the brush at all. Love the color combo possibilities with this one!

Next, we have Outer Space. A clear base with fine blue glitters and chunky gold and pink hexes. This is 2 coats over Milani Beach Front. I think this is my favorite out of the 6 because of the unique color combo of the glitters and the different sizes.

Red Flash is next. It has very fine red glitters as well as chunky hexes in a clear base. It's much less orange toned than this picture, for some reason my camera wanted it more golden. This is one coat over Milani Morning Coffee. As you can see, it's very dense for one coat! Great coverage.

This is Galaxy. It's the gunmetal grey version of Red Flash. The same fine glitters paired with chunky hexes in a clear base. This is one coat over Milani Orchidia. I've been wanting a layering glitter of this color for a while now and am really excited about this one! I love it!

This is Purple Party. 2 coats on it's own, its very dense and easy to work with. When I was looking at the bottle, I thought it was only fuchsia and silver glitters but when I was loading these pictures, I realized that it had so many other colors hiding in there! Very pretty!

Lastly, we have Carnival. This is 3 coats on its own and very pretty! A navy blue jelly base with small blue and chunky green, blue, and silver hexagon glitters. It was easy to apply.

And if you saw the swatch of Carnival and thought it looked familiar...

Seems very close to the pricey Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe! Below I've done a comparison:

Jordana Carnival on the index and ring fingers, DL ATU on the middle and pinky fingers! The Jordana only took 3 coats while it was 4 for the Deborah Lippmann to get to full coverage. I LOVE when there are $3 alternatives to $18 polishes!! 

So what do you think of these new glitters? I really love them! I know you can find Jordana polishes at most Kmart stores, and of course these and more are all available at jordanacosmetics.com. They retail for $2.99!
