Good morning, readers! It's time for the final post of Fandom Week with The Digit-al Dozen. I had to bring it back to my favorite fandom for nail art: Doctor Who! This is a tribute to last season with Peter Capaldi as the 12th doctor--with a nod to the episode called Flatline where to T.A.R.D.I.S. was shrinking with him inside of it. I am so anxious for the new season to start!

Stone Nail Art with Elevation Polish Grand Teton Sunset
Good morning, readers! I have a fun mani to share with you that I wore last week. @Stylish_mom on Instagram posted a tutorial for "Stone Nail Design" using acrylic paint and silver flakes and I just had to try it right away! I've been wanting to try the watercolor technique with acrylic paint ever since I bought some but haven't gotten around to it until now. My base color is Elevation Polish Grand Teton Sunset so I'm not sure how much this looks like a stone in real life--but I sure loved wearing it.

Winstonia Third Generation Stamping Image Plate Set Review!
Press Sample
Good afternoon, readers! It's been quiet around here on Adventures In Acetone lately, have you noticed? School is out for the summer AND my little Owen (almost 3 years old) has had a stomach bug for a few days. However, he is feeling a little better today so I have some time to share the newest set of stamping plates from Winstonia. There are 20 plates and most of them are full plate designs where there aren't spaces between the images. Let's take a closer look below at each plate, plus a couple of manis I've worn since the plates arrived at my house.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Geometric, Day 2: Broken Chevron Nail Art
Good evening, readers! It's a bit late for me to post around here, but today is Hailey's 7th birthday and it was a day of fun and family time. Today's Geometric Week mani is dedicated to Hailey as well because it was inspired by her new bed sheets. I'm calling this design "broken chevron" and I was so in love with the color combo as soon as we bought them. Check out my Instagram for a bonus shot holding a pillow case.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Geometric, Day 1: Quatrefoil Gradient
Good morning, readers! It's Monday, but I have good news! It's Digit-al Dozen Week and the theme is Geometric. I'm still trying to brainstorm ideas for the week, but I suspect we will see lots of shapes, patterns, and lines from most of us this week. Today's mani is what I've been wearing all weekend and I really love the color combo of the bright creme gradient over the darker shimmer quatrefoil pattern.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Childhood, Day 1: Power Rangers!
Good morning, readers! It's time for this month's Digit-al Dozen nail art week! The theme is Childhood and I can't wait to see the versatile manis from the group this week. This is such a fun theme and it can go so many different ways--from things reminding us of our own childhoods, things that remind us of our own children, things that are just child-like in general, etc.
My first mani is inspired by a tv show that has been around for YEARS, with many different series themes. It's the Power Rangers! It debuted in 1993 and you can find 20+ seasons on Netflix today. My kids, Hailey (6.5) and Owen (2.5) are obsessed with them. They pick Power Rangers more often than any other show during their tv time--and their favorite series is Power Rangers Samurai.
I've recreated the 5 main Samurai Power Ranger helmets on my nails for today's look.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature, Day 4: Beach Waves Nail Art
Previous Press Sample
Affiliate Link
Good morning! I'm back today with my 4th mani for Digit-al Dozen Nature Week. This was another mani created by following one of the tutorials in Idiot's Guides: Nail Art by Emily from The Lacquerologist. It's an aerial view of beach waves and so easy to create without any special tools (aside from my little star fish and shell extras).

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Nature, Day 3: Mermaid Tail Nail Art
Good morning, readers! Are you ready for Day 3 of Nature Week with The Digit-al Dozen? I wore this mani all weekend and loved it so much! It's been a little over a year since I first tried free handed Mermaid Scales and I even did a simple tutorial for it! For this mani, I went a different route and added more color to the fin before adding the scale pattern on top. Mermaids may not be real, but I'm fitting them in with nature week anyway!

Elevation Polish Mill City Ruins + Nail Art!
Purchased
By Me
Good morning, readers! After the crazy week last week with The Digit-al Dozen, I'm wearing a simple mani today using the new Elevation Polish Mill City Ruins. It's the first thermal polish by Elevation and it's stunning with and without the thermal change! A gorgeous dusty olive green with gold flake and shimmer, I chose to pair it with a gold arrowhead geometric design.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Patterns On Patterns, Day 5: Chevrons and Cheetah Print with Elevation Polish!
Good afternoon, readers! TGIF! It's the final day of Patterns on Patterns Week with The Digit-al Dozen and I am really enjoying my final design! I used three shimmery Elevation Polishes, some chevron nail vinyls from KBShimmer, and a dotting tool to create freehand cheetah spots.

13 Days Of January, Day 8: Artwork (Splatter Nail Art)
Good evening, readers! Are you ready for Day 8 of the 13 Days of January challenge? The prompt is Artwork and I tried my hand at art similar to Jackson Pollock. His turn out more like drizzles of paint on canvas, but I splattered polish on my nail using a coffee stirring straw for a similar effect. This is a color combo I picked, it isn't related to any of his paintings that I know of.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Thankfulness, Day 5: Books!
Good afternoon, readers! It's the final day of Thankfulness with The Digit-al Dozen! Have you enjoyed this week? I love how different the theme has stretched among the group of us and I've had fun trying to decide what I could incorporate from my life into nail art. Today's nail art is my favorite manicure in a while and I am so excited to wear it all weekend. Today, I am thankful for books. Whether it's the children's books filled with pictures and rhymes that I read with my children daily, or the (mostly) Urban Fantasy books I read for myself as often as I can.
I've done a sparkling, colorful base with the words "live, laugh, love" stamped across them. Not all the books we read have colorful pages, but those that don't can take us on a journey out of our everyday life and that is what's so magical about books. I am so glad that both of my children, as well as Mr. Adventures In Acetone, love books as much as I do.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Thankfulness, Day 1: Vinyl Nail Guides.
Good morning, readers! It's time for another nail art week with The Digit-al Dozen! This month's theme is Thankfulness and it's posing quite the challenge when it comes to conveying ideas into nail art. I am so absolutely thankful to God for the blessings in my life such as my husband, children, family, friends, food on our table, a home, our health, my husband's employment, etc. Those are really the most important things in my life but aren't that easy to do as nail art. So, I think I'll look at this week as a way to show some of the little things in life I am thankful for. Whether they just make me happy or make my life as a busy mom easier.

Darling Diva Caffeine Junkie: Spray Marble Nail Art
Good afternoon, readers! I recently won a prize package of two custom polishes from Ashley Is PolishAddicted's 3 Year Blogiversary Giveaway. I showed you the custom Elevation Polish Fervent on Saturday, and today I'm wearing the other custom: Darling Diva Caffeine Junkie. I loved the flakes and shimmer in this base polish and decided to do a spray marble over it for my full mani.

Half Moon Spider Web Nail Art!
Good afternoon, readers! I can't believe it's November already! I know this post is a little late, but I really wanted to show you what I wore on my nails for Halloween yesterday. I did a sneak peek on Instagram last night, but here are some more pictures for your viewing pleasure!

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Spooky Days, Day 4: Spider Webs!
Good morning, readers! It's Day 4 of Spooky Days with The Digit-al Dozen. I feel like I can't get through a Halloween season without spider web nails. Spiders creep me out all year long, but I still can't deny how fun the webs are to paint. I've been doing them for years and I love how different they can look. This time, I was wearing Pahlish The Final Flower and knew I wanted to use it as a base for spider webs. Elevation Polish Black Ice was a great pairing for the gradient, and the silver spider webs just popped so well.

The Digit-al Dozen DOES Floral, Day 1: Water Lily Nail Art!
Good evening, readers! It's another nail art week with The Digit-al Dozen and the theme is Floral! Ahhhhhh! If you know me, you realize I hardly ever do floral nail art. I'm not good at it, I can probably count on 2 hands how many floral manis I've ever done. However, I did make a vow to practice more often than I have been. Let's see how the week goes.
My first floral design is water lilies! After seeing Sveta Sanders post THIS awesome tutorial for needle marble swirls a few days ago, I've been itching to try it. After I was semi-successful, my friends told me that my version looked like water so I was able to tie it in with Floral Week by adding some lilies!

The Digit-al Dozen DOES The Terrific Twos, Day 4: China Pattern
Good morning, readers! It's Day 4 of The Terrific Twos week with The Digit-al Dozen! We are celebrating our 2nd Anniversary--did you enter our EPIC giveaway yet!? Today's nail art prompt is china pattern (modern 2nd anniversary gift). I don't often stamp on my nails-- I'm more of a free-hand nail art girl-- but when I thought of "china patterns," I realized that stamping would work best for me.
