GIVEAWAY! The Nail Junkie Witch, Frankenstein, and Candy Corn Nail Art!

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! How about we start off this week with a GIVEAWAY!? I have 3 of The Nail Junkie's Halloween polishes to show you with some nail art inspired by each one. At the bottom of this post there will be a giveaway so make sure you read all the way down for your chance to win!

Witch, Frankenstein, Candy Corn.

Witch is a purple jelly polish packed with white, black, green, and purple hex glitters. It's a little sheer so I'm showing three coats with top coat for full coverage in the photos below. I've paired it with an accent nail of some witch legs. They turned out much skinnier than I pictured haha! I love the color combo in this glitter polish!

Frankenstein is a green jelly polish with shimmer and black bar and small hex glitters. It was more opaque than Witch so I'm showing 2 coats below with top coat. I've paired it with an accent nail of a silly Frankenstein design. Love the shimmer!

This silly guy was inspired by this image I found on Google.

Candy Corn is a white jelly polish with orange and yellow hex glitters. I'm showing 2 coats below with top coat. I've paired it with 2 accent nails of abstract candy corn, inspired by this "earthquake" nail art I saw on Beauty Gnome

What do you think of these three Halloween polishes by The Nail Junkie? I love them, Aleta puts so much effort into her combinations to really represent the inspirations and I love it!

The Nail Junkie Ladybug + Nail Art!

Press Sample

Good morning, readers! I have the third and final new Animal Collection polish from The Nail Junkie to show you today! If you missed my posts last week, below you can find the links to the other 2:

Zebra
Peacock

Ladybug is a bright red jelly polish with bigger black matte dot glitters. It is super opaque for a jelly and I was almost able to wear one coat. I've done two coats, however, because I wanted more of the black dot glitters. I did place a few of the dots where I wanted them but didn't have a hard time getting them on the brush at all. The jelly base is on the thicker side to be able to hold the heavier big dot glitters, but this works to it's advantage and helps with smoothing it out when the nail is dry. I did use one coat of Seche Vite for my photos after I added the nail art and you can see that it's slightly bumpy in shape still, but it was smooth and you couldn't feel glitter sticking up.

I was able to do such simple ladybug nail art over the polish once it was dry, it's perfect for this kind of design! I love that I didn't even have to make my own dots! I just used a short striping brush for the black and the silver antennae. Then, with 2 sizes of dotting tools, I did the eyes with white and black. (ignore the smear through the eye on my middle finger, I didn't let them dry long enough I guess grr).

What do you think of this new polish from The Nail Junkie? Think you could easily replicate this nail art, I think you can!

You can purchase this polish, and many others at the shop link below for $10. Free domestic shipping, flat rate international shipping, and a free gift with every order! Don't forget to grab my two favorite cuticle products while you are there: Cutie Balm and Cutie Drops!

The Nail Junkie Peacock + Nail Art!

Press Sample

Hello, readers! TGIF! I am so ready for the weekend. I have the 2nd out of the 3 new Animal Collection polishes by The Nail Junkie to show you today. I've already posted on Zebra (you can see that post HERE if you missed it earlier this week) and today's polish is called Peacock.

Here is what Aleta has to say about the gorgeous Peacock: "A tri-colored blend of micro glitter and jelly that catches the essence of the shimmery, glistening feathers of a peacock.
Peacock is a mix of gold, blue and green micro glitters all floating in a barely there blue jelly base. This glitter bomb is a full coverage polish that can be worn alone."

I'm so impressed by this polish. It definitely captures a peacock perfectly and it covers amazingly well! I'm showing 2 coats below with top coat. Barely any cleanup required because the formula was really easy to work with!

I decided to do a peacock for nail art on my accent nail. Here's how I did it:
  • I started out with one coat of Zoya Giovanna and let dry.
  • I then stamped with the peacock feather image on Bundle Monster plate BM-212 using China Glaze Passion.
  • Next, I went in with a detail brush and filled in some of the feather designs with Zoya Song.
  • Finally, over top of the tail feather stamp, I painted on the head and neck of a peacock using Zoya Song and then some more gold and emerald for the details.
  • Topped with one coat of Seche Vite.

How gorgeous is this glitter combo?!

What do you think about this fun mani and new polish by The Nail Junkie? I love it!

You can purchase this polish, and many others at the shop link below for $10. Free domestic shipping, flat rate international shipping, and a free gift with every order! Don't forget to grab my two favorite cuticle products while you are there: Cutie Balm and Cutie Drops!

Happy Birthday, Caitlin! Cupcake Nail Art!

Good morning, readers! It's my little sister, Caitlin's, 22nd Birthday today!! Let's all wish her a Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Caitlin!!!

She is an amazing young woman and I am so proud to call her my little sister. She is currently teaching at a Christian school in Cambodia for 2 years and this summer she was in Africa on a mission trip, so it's been a while since we've been able to hang out. I wish I was wearing this mani to a birthday party for her to see in person, but I hope she will see this post and know we were all celebrating with her in spirit.

Here is a picture of us together during our few hours at the airport in between her arriving home from Kenya and leaving on another plane to Cambodia:
Isn't she cute in her African attire?!

I did some cupcake nail art for her birthday! I finally got to use The Nail Junkie Cupcake for my original reason for buying it. The base is Illamasqua Seance and of course I couldn't help but add some candles and "22" on top of the cupcakes!

What do you think? Did you notice I've decided to try out rounded nails? I'm definitely digging them! Thanks for reading!

Love you, sister! Can't wait to see you for Christmas break! xoxo

Mommy's NOTD: The Nail Junkie Zebra + Nail Art!

Press Sample

Hello, readers! The Nail Junkie recently released 3 new polishes in The Animal Collection and I have them to share with you. Today's post is on Zebra and I'm wearing this as a full mani right now. I couldn't help but make a cute little Zebra on my accent nail, and it may be a future design for Tutorial Tuesdays. Keep an eye out in the next few weeks!

Zebra is a full coverage white jelly/crelly base with black bar glitter to give the appearance of a zebra pattern on your nails. I'm only showing 2 coats below with top coat, which is AWESOME coverage for a white polish that has glitter. The application was easy and if some bars stuck off the tip of my nails, I just pushed them back on or wiped them off completely with the brush. No issues to report!

The base of the Zebra nail art accent nail is Elevation Polish Sarychev. The zebra was inspired by this cute image I found in a Google Image search:

What do you think? I'm surprised at how much I really like The Nail Junkie Zebra. I'm not a big wearer of white based polishes but this one is just too fun!

You can purchase this polish, and many others at the shop link below for $10. Free domestic shipping, flat rate international shipping, and a free gift with every order! Don't forget to grab my two favorite cuticle products while you are there: Cutie Balm and Cutie Drops!

Strawberry Jelly Sandwich!

Good morning, readers! Today's post is more of a NOTD (nails of the day) look that I wore a little while ago. Jelly sandwich manis are so super easy and I can't get enough of them. If you are unfamiliar with the term, jelly sandwich manis are where you sandwich a layer of glitter between the layers of a jelly polish. I usually do 1-2 coats of the jelly polish, one coat of glitter, and one coat of the jelly polish again on top with top coat. The glitter is almost "suspended" in the jelly polish. The combinations are endless and I always love how they turn out!

I recently purchased a couple new polishes from The Nail Junkie and this was one of the new neon jellies I just had to have. It's called Strawberry (how fitting for a jelly sandwich) and is a super bright and fun pink! It has holographic shimmer that really sets it apart from the plain jellies in my collection!

I'm showing 2 coats of Strawberry, one coat of Lynnderella Sugared Violet, and one more coat of Nail Junkie Strawberry on top with top coat.

What do you think? Are you a jelly sandwich fan? You can get these polishes at the links below. Thanks for reading!

Digit-al Dozen DOES Love & Heartbreak: Love Letter

Hello, readers! Sadly, it's the last day of Digit-al Dozen week for the month. I really enjoy these art weeks, they make me enjoy nail art again and I love trying to figure out creative new ideas for the monthly themes.

I'm closing out this week with a simple manicure with a gorgeous unique Valentine's Day polish: The Nail Junkie's Love Letter. It's, "a symbolic polish with red, white, and pink mini sheets of paper (square glitters) and lots of  black ink (super teeny bar glitter and fine particle glitter) in a clear base." I loved this glitter and had to order it as soon as it was available on Etsy. It is currently in stock so go grab one!

I stamped some love designs from my essence stamping plate as well on my accent nails and love this mani! So easy but eye catching as well.

Look at the secret shimmer I didn't know about!

I used:
Duri Rejuvacote
2 coats of Sinful Colors Smokin
1 coat of Nail Junkie Love Letter
2 coats of Zoya Posh on my accent nail
Konad special polishes in white and pink with my essence stamp plate
Poshe top coat

What do you think? Here is a fun collage of this week's Love & Heartbreak manis! Hope you've enjoyed the week! Thanks for reading!
