The Digit-al Dozen DOES It All Again: Geek!

Good morning, readers!! I am so so so excited about today's post! It's Geek day with the Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular throw back. I honestly think that when we did Geek Week earlier this year, it was my favorite week of manis. I am a total geek when it comes to fantasy/scifi shows. Well, we have recently added a new geeky show to our favorites and I was glad to do a mani inspired by our newest favorite show: Doctor Who!

If you are familiar with Doctor Who, you know that The Weeping Angels are, "the deadliest, most powerful, most malevolent life form evolution has ever produced." They appear as statues covering their eyes while you are looking at them, but if you turn away/blink, etc, they can move quickly and silently toward you. You will either be sent back in time or killed. This is what The Doctor had to say about them:
"Fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss, they just zap you into the past and let you live to death. The rest of your life used up and blown away in the blink of an eye. You die in the past, and in the present they consume the energy of all the days you might have had, all your stolen moments. They're creatures of the abstract. They live off potential energy."

So basically, DON'T BLINK!

Anyway, onto the mani! My base is OPI Roadhouse Blues and appears almost black in some of these pictures. It's a very dark blue/indigo shade. I've done the Weeping Angels in Sinful Colors Cool Gray and Smokin' with my striper brush.

Still have no idea what creatures I'm talking about? Here are some google search images:

I'll go ahead and apologize now to you all. Since, apparently, "That which holds the image of an angel, becomes itself an angel." So they may appear to come out of your computer screen at any moment.

So what do you think? I'm really proud of these and wore them all weekend! Thanks for reading, come back tomorrow for the next theme with The Digit-al Dozen!

  14. Hi...I like sci-fi stuff though I've never seen an episode of Dr. Who (though I have heard a lot about the show). I hope you aren't tired of hearing accolades because this mani is completely overwhelming! I'm THRILLED to see nail art this detailed actually done with polish instead of acrylic paint. I don't have anything against acrylic paint users but I do always wonder if acrylic paint is used so much because the truth is that it's actually impossible to paint with actual nail polish the beautiful manis done with acrylic paint. Your amazing detailed work here shows it is possible to use nail polish for nail art done at this astounding level of talent. Wow. Y'know? Just...wow!!
